I'd invited him along with all other federal Members of Parliament and all Ottawa City Councilors to attend a talk on Peak Oil I'm giving tonight at a local university. His communications person was polite, and even though he declined at least I know the invitation was read:
Recent polls indicate that upcoming elections will be won and lost over how Canadians see our politicians act on environmental issues.
Global Warming, caused by the use of fossil fuels, is a top priority.
However, Global Warming is not the only fossil fuel problem that will soon impact our country.
In order to meet the needs of Canadians, legislators need a complete understanding of this problem and how it interacts with Global Warming.
Our civilization is critically dependent on oil.
A growing body of evidence points to an imminent, long-term decline in the world’s oil supply.
What risks could this pose to our society?
What is Canada ’s place in this unfolding challenge?
What solutions are available, and how realistic are they?
Add to your understanding of this looming crisis in one evening.
You are invited to a one hour presentation on Peak Oil challenges and solutions, followed by an open question and answer session.
We'll see who shows up. :hide:
