Subhendu Guha heads Greenville expansion of United Solar Ovonic (MI)

Subhendu Guha says he has a “challenging” and “exciting” job overseeing rapid manufacturing expansion in Greenville that could cost nearly $1 billion over the next four years.

“We’re trying to go from a million-dollar company to a billion-dollar company,” he said.

Just keeping up with current demand for United Solar Ovonic’s innovative flexible thin-film solar panels is challenging enough.

But Guha also must stay ahead of the rapidly growing market to meet the company’s plans of cornering 10 percent of the global solar market.

United Solar Ovonic has doubled its workforce from 200 to 400 people in the past couple of years and has plans to double that number again to 800 employees in the next two years.
