Czech Climatologist - Klaus "Denies Scientific Knowledge", Equates Environmentalism & Communism
Czech President Vaclav Klaus has denied scientific knowledge in his answers to U.S. Congress' questions about global climatic changes, Czech climatologist Jan Pretel told CTK today.

The Congressmen asked Klaus for his opinions ahead of today's debate on global warming in the House of Representatives energy and air quality subcommittee to which they have invited former U.S. vice-president Albert Gore.

Klaus's opinions are in a sharp contrast to Gore's.

Scientists as well as other people in the Czech Republic object to Klaus comparing environmentalism to communism.

1. Why the hell is Congress dragging this fraud in?

Are they so desperate to find climate change deniers that they have to go all the way to the Czech Republic to get one? Surely, it would be infinitely more useful to hear from the overwhelming proportion of environmental scientists who regard climate change as real, than a political hack with a vested interest in unconstrained industrial growth.

3. you know what needs to happen?
All 2,000 climate scientists need to show up at these things. The optics of these Congressional hearings are always the same. They get one representative of the scientific consensus, and one representative that AEI dug out from under a rock somewhere to play the skeptic. It looks "balanced." Here's one guy arguing against one other guy.

But in reality, it's thousands of peer-reviewed scientists against a few hired hacks. It's just that those thousands of guys are never at the same place in the same time. They can always find enough hacks to balance the optics.
