WHY did Bremer DO IT?
There is always a reason! Why did he come forward 3 weeks before the eelction and say what Bushit & cO did wrong in Iraq? He could have just stayed silent???

4. Will they all stand trial for War Crimes?
I would be dancing in the street...I'd give up a years salary for that one.

Rumsfeld wouldn't release the funds to do the job properly and Bremer took the heat. He isn't going to be the fall guy. Whats good for the goose....

5. Because BushCo fouled up
all the plans to reap big $$$$$ in Iraq.

Now, nobody can cash in because everything is so quagmired.

6. I think that it was a ploy.
He has already covered, I believe -- so I don't think that it does us much good.

He wasn't trying to help us out and I don't think that any of these guys see the wolf at the door -- because they have things planned -- and because the wolf isn't there yet.

Look, we don't need him telling us that the situation in Iraq is a mess or that more troops are needed (that is, if we are going to try to root out the "insurgents" and restore order). We already know these things -- shades of the "memos", me thinks. (And there are other, perhaps more likely ploys.)

7. You'd almost think the guy was incompetent or something.
But how could a guy who did such a great job in Iraq ever screw anything up?

8. Bremer is a moron, a frat boy moron like Shrub.
No other explanation is required.

9. HE ADMITS NOTHING!
He sent a flack out to say, you can't use that, Mr. B's remarks were OFF THE RECORD. The reporters said, too effing bad, no do-overs in national security or politics, you shoulda said that ahead of time!

Apparently he made the remarks before a select group. I think he wanted to be named as one of those ubiquitous "senior administration officials" or "a source close to the administration/White House" but he blew it by not establishing the ground rules ahead of time. If you ever do not want your name used, make ABSOLUTELY SURE that you clarify that with a reporter, even make them repeat it back to you, down to HOW you will be characterized. Some people go so far as to obscure gender, it spreads the blame around nicely.

Colin Powell is a whiz at this kind of thing. Half of the really good administration leaks are him, ya know! Of course, since he called them all a bunch of fucking imbiciles recently, I would guess he isn't as 'in' with the In Crowd as he should be, these days.
