Major gaps in military readiness at home - and how it relates to your Second Amendment rights
So, accoring to the Commission on National Guard and Reserves, 88 percent of what the Brady Campaign regards as the "well-regulated militia" guaranteed by the Second Amendment isn't even ready to guard American soil from a catastrophe.

How does this relate to you? Here's a link to the Amendment II Democrats blog on MySpace:

4. "To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the Militia", that's congress' job and it has
failed misrably particularly with the unorganized militia. See Article I, section 8, clause 16 of our Constitution.

10 USC 311 says:
(a) The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section 313 of title 32, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the National Guard.

(b) The classes of the militia are—

(1) the organized militia, which consists of the National Guard and the Naval Militia; and

(2) the unorganized militia, which consists of the members of the militia who are not members of the National Guard or the Naval Militia.

A token part of the unorganized militia is somewhat organized, armed, and disciplined, see SGAUS State Organizations, but perhaps 99+% of the 50 million or more men and women in the unorganized militia are not.

8. If only the Shrub had gone to War College...
Instead of Party College, he might have learned what usually occurs when you over-extend your troops. Can you say "Reckless"?

10. Intresting...
It seems to be a pattern repeated later on in his life, too. Lousy businessman one day,
lousy govenor the next. Lousy govenor one day, dangerously lousy president the next.
