Now that the NRA has blacklisted millions of decent Americans,
wouldn't it be delicously ironic if Dean's pro-NRA whoring and then waffling about gun safety costs him the nomination?

As a candidate running for president, an "A" rating from the NRA is not generally something that a Democrat seeks. Back when he was running for governor in 1992, Dean told the NRA that he opposed any restrictions on private ownership of assault weapons in a signed questionnaire.
However, outside of rural Vermont, such comments don’t always play well. These days, Dean assures audiences that he agreed with Bill Clinton’s ban in 1994, but is against further federal legislation.

Andrew Arulanandam, an NRA spokesman, says the guns banned in the 1994 law "weren’t that much different from firearms that are used in hunting and competition," or in other words, firearms used by rural Vermonters. He also accused Dean of "schizophrenia," saying he has switched his position because he is running for president."

loses the nomaination because of his gun stance, it won't matter because the Democrats will lose the election. Dean is correct on the gun issue for this country, and to win the election. I think most Americans know that. Keep this stuff up and you will elect Bush* again. If I had the goods on Kerry or any of the others that would cause them to drop out, I would not use it. I did send them an email asking if the list would be published. I would'nt hold my breath for a answer. I have sent them three emails in the past and never heard back from them. The Brady bunch website posted an article about "50 Cal sniper rifles" they listed several crimes committed with the .50 but did not list their sources. I sent then two emails asking what their sources were and never heard back from them. I checked with some police sources of mine and found out that two of their stories never happened. I sent them an email with that info with no answer back. They then took the first story off their website and replaced it with a second article with sources if you want to buy the books. I did post the story about the first article here on DU at least a month ago and have to find it. This is the second article they posted

Brady did a story about them, they mentioned several crimes that were very vague and of course they sort of forgot to list the endnote (#15) that these stories came from. I sent them an email several days ago asking if they could send me the source of these stories but havent heard anything back from them.

Brady is preatty slick. Only proof I have that on Oct 3 the sources were listed under endnote #15 and today it is sourced as V111 and all the stories were changed to protect the guilty.

is that supporting the RKBA will almost certainly allow the Dem candidate to gain support amongst the general electorate in the Presidential election. But it's also almost as certain not to lose the candidate any votes. The number of folks who would not vote for the Democratic candidate based on his support for the RKBA is insignifigant, while there are plenty out there who would not vote for him based on his support for gun control.

Arnold said he supports the federal assault weapon ban.

That's nice, but California already has a stricter AW ban that does not have a sunset clause.

Arnold said he support closing the misnamed "gun show loophole".

That's also nice, but in California ALL firearms sales including private-party transfers have to go through an FFL including a background check and a 10-day wait. That has been true for many years. There truly is no GSL in California.
