Poll question: Where does gun control rank on your list of political priorities?
Edited on Thu Apr-09-09 02:33 PM by Cant trust em
I'm trying to get a bead on (no pun intended) on who on this site cares about this issue. Sorry if I got some terminology wrong. What could be added to this poll to make it better?

1. I voted "I am for gun freedom, but it isn't a big priority for me".
I generally don't even look at a politicians position concerning gun control.

2. That's how I am. It probably won't even factor in how I vote.
Oh wait...maybe since it's my poll I shouldn't have said that.

Does this invalidate the findings of my very official experiment?

4. Gun freedom, low priority
But the term "Gum freedom" makes me scratch my head a bit. How about "gun ownership" or something like that?

5. I can get down with that.
Since I'm detached from the issue I don't even know what to call stuff.

7. Very high - I have a vested financial interest in opposing gun bans
Or anything that would require paying money for the "privilege" of keeping my personal property.

8. I've never owned, shot, or been around guns
and I've been fortunate to live in safe areas where crime is not a big problem. So I guess I don't have any strong feelings one way or the other. I can see both sides though. If I lived in a neighborhood where criminals were always shooting things up, I guess I'd want them banned. But if I lived out in an isolated spot I'd want one for safety.

9. I support gun control but it is neither among my top priorities nor unimportant to me.
The poll's available choices just didn't fit me.

11. I await the next Gallup poll re gun-control following recent tragic murders.
Before Recent Shootings, Gun-Control Support Was Fading (April 8, 2009)
PRINCETON, NJ -- In Gallup polling conducted prior to last week's gun massacre at an immigrant center in Binghamton, N.Y., only 29% of Americans said the possession of handguns by private citizens should be banned in the United States. While similar to the 30% recorded in 2007, the latest reading is the smallest percentage favoring a handgun ban since Gallup first polled on this nearly 50 years ago.

12. Very strongly anti-gun control.
End the pointless war on drugs, keep non-violent drug users out of prison so that violent offenders don't have to be released early. Eliminating the illegal drug market and locking up violent criminals and gang members would cause the number of murders to plummet.
