Police: St. Pete homeowner with shotgun confronts burglar (actually pretty funny)
ST. PETERSBURG - A homeowner confronted a burglar this morning, smashing the intruder across the face with the butt end of a shotgun, St. Petersburg police said.

The burglar, identified by police as Justin Masse, 22, at first fled, then turned around and started toward homeowner Michael Lowry, a U.S. Navy veteran, police said. That's when Lowry fired a shell in the ground, and Masse ran off, police said.

A newspaper delivery person spotted Masse unconscious two blocks away in a front yard, police said. Masse received stitches and was eventually transported to the Pinellas County Jail on a charge of residential burglary, police said.

2. The photo of that bunghole is pretty funny

Center photo is the one after he got arrested this time. Doesn't appear to be the brightest candle on the cake.

5. I know it's just cameral angle and a bad haircut, but he looks a little lop-sided
in the post-buttstroke picture.

Dude was lucky the homeowner had such restraint...

6. I think hat you are seeing in those photos is the progression of drug abuse
It's a huge problem here: meth and crack. Look at his whole face and his eyes. He goes from the left photo where he looks rather healthy, if probably showing the early outwards signs of poor choices , to the right photo where you see him going downhill, to the center photo where he looks like he's not only hit bottom but been hit by it.

3. He's very lucky, the homeowner could've filled his ass with shot...
Appears to be a slow learner, however.

9. A lady in my area shot a guy in the chest twice when he rushed her.
She surprised 3 burglars in her house when she woke up. All 3 ran, 1 turned and charged her and her gun. 2 to the chest.
The bad guy charging the home owner with the gun happens more often than you would think.

11. I guess they believe the Brady stereotype...
you know the BG will just take the gun because civilian is unlikely to be able to defend themselves.

Sheer irony would be the day a convicted burglar with two bullet wounds lives and then sues the Brady campaign for spreading false and dangerous (for the criminal) propaganda.

10. Yep, but I do commend him for not shooting.

It would have been far safer (and safer) to have shot him.
