Dear (former) fellow RKBA advocates............

...........tonight I watched the film "Gun Crazy" on Turner Classic Movies and I've seen the light. Sorry to say that I now have decided that gun control is the only way to keep myself & fellow citizens safe.

Upon seeing how The Gun corrupted the soul of Bart Tare, I just can't take the chance that the same fate won't befall me -- and will be selling off all of my firearms shortly.

I just thought I should give you a heads-up that I'll be joining the wise team of men and women who are aware that the only way to preserve our nation is to restrict the ownership of guns & ammo among so-called "law abiding citizens" -- and only pray that someday you too will experience the wonderful conversion experience that I have been blessed to receive.

Respectfully.................hound

1. Good luck with that
Any guns I might be interested in buying? I only buy high quality guns. I have no use for crap. If it's not match grade, I'm not interested, but if your selling... Got anything interesting?

Thrill Crazy?
Kill Crazy?
Gun Crazy?

I don't know about those, but I'm sure crazy about the dame on the DVD box.

Did you forget a tag in that post, jazzhound? :)

Why kind sir............whatever do you mean?

While it's much more common for people to switch positions from pro-control to pro-rights, a reversal in the other direction is not completely unheard of. I've been spending the better part of my morning on itstandstoreason.com and itsonlylogical.com and have discovered many bright, intellectually curious people who share my views.

Hopefully some day you will understand the sanity in controlling an extremely abundant item in order to control the tiny percentage of the population that abuse that item.

7. Heavy sigh..................

Don't you realize that any day now all of those extremely well-behaved concealed carry permit holders will snap and go on a killing spree? I bet you're a member of the NRA! Support for renewing the assault weapons ban is part of the Democratic Party platform.........if you don't believe in all of the items on the platform, shouldn't you be posting on a RW discussion board?!

Sheesh..........

10. Gun control is a universal government goal
Notice that when we setup pseudo democracies in other countries like Iraq they do not add in a right to bear arms in the constitution. It also looks fishy to me that the UN lied about WMDs in Iraq and now the Iraq constitution looks like the UN wrote it.

11.  Do NOT sell your firearms....
Edited on Sun Oct-03-10 02:16 PM by oneshooter
If, as you say, you are a True Believer then you need to DESTROY those objects of evil! To sell or give them away would allow them to spread their EVIL mind control radiation even further.
DESTROY THEM, so that others may live!!! THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!

13. I stand justifiably humbled before superior wisdom........

..........and I am ashamed to say that I failed to think of the children. Don't know what I was thinking, but since I have access to the Pacific Ocean and a fishing boat I can put all of the evil guns in a bodybag (oops.........I meant duffel bag) and sink them using the Tony Soprano method.

Thanks for putting me on track, oneshooter.

22. Now that my evil, EVIL guns are at the bottom of the

ocean floor, it is easy for me to resist snark in response to your post suggesting that I am jesting. Because suddenly I feel as though an infection has left me! I can assure you, however, that I am being completely sincere.

I haven't yet told one of my gun-hating best friends of my conversion -- as he's out of town at an engineering convention. Can't wait to receive his thrilled response! We can burn my small collection of NRA magazines together in his fire pit!!

Great suggestion ------- thanks for the input!!!

Side note re. my neighbor: I mentioned that he loathes firearms --- but he's BIG into kickboxing. In his forties, last year he got into an altercation with another guy on the street and got punched so hard one of his eyes was dislodged from the socket. Luckily he's had a full recovery. Of course I fully understand his position on guns now! Gun owners are macho creeps with something to prove, (or compensate for) while middle-aged guys who get into fights on the street are perfectly well adjusted.

It may also interest you to know that in order to maintain philosophical consistency I have chosen to oppose ALL civil rights.

Best regards.............hound

I am giving up the family cats- Squeeker, Scratcher, and Black Cat (not to mention all things art-deco) all after watching Krazy Kat cartoons. It's like I have shed a great burden. I had no idea how much those insidious cats influenced my behavior: I now realize that I was trained to feed them, act as an unpaid massage therapist, and coordinate their entertainments. Whew- good riddance to bad kitties!

Next I watched a commercial for a (seemingly innocent!) cyanoacrylate adhesive product which is strong enough to, "hold a man suspended in midair!" and afterwards, decided it's just too dangerous to have around. The name of this insidious product? Aptly- Krazy Glue! You'd have to be insane to court such disaster, to glue your hard hat to a beam and then swing around. Madness.

Thanks for your sense of humor; that find is on Netlix fer sure.
Shoot straight,
-FM

I am impressed by the pain and anguish contained in your post. I believe that the longer you have those evil, soul-destroying instruments of evil in your possession, the less likely it is that you will be able to fight off their hypnotic influence. Therefore, I am volunteering - out of the goodness of my heart, of course - to remove all of those life-ending tools of the devil from our life forever. Furthermore, I refuse to take any money from you for this. Think of it as an act of pure altruism.

I'll be in touch...

Edited on Mon Oct-04-10 12:59 AM by jazzhound
floor. oneshooter's suggestion came at the perfect time, as my neighbor always takes his fishing boat out on Sunday mornings. Since he absolutely HATES guns, he was more than happy to allow me to join him today, and we tossed the disassembled parts of my firearms out of the vessel one part at a time when we were many miles out to sea.

Sorry to disappoint -- particularly since we (apparently) share the same birth year -- I must say I'm impressed with your sincere willingness to assist a complete stranger.

Haven't you watched horror movies? Don't you know that simply throwing them in the ocean won't stop them? If you'd seen Jumanji, you would NEVER have done that. Now they will wash up on a beach, or end up in a fish on someone's plate, and the evil will consume someone else! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?

(Sorry - I have to stop now, my tongue has worn a hole in the membrane of my left cheek...)
