Bloomberg is at it again.... Republican funded torpedoes incoming!!!!
He has a front organazation...It is called "Americans United for Safe Streets", they have a budget of $502,000, of which 500,000 came from Bloomberg...

They are running ads supporting gun control, a matter of days and hours before election day, in "key states", such as: Virginia, Ohio, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. Which all happen to be big time GUNOWNER STATES.

Example of the ads.. And I won't even discuss the deliberately misleading ad (yes I will, he was killed due to lack of states sharing medical records, not the gun show loophole, but yet, it is made to "appear" that the gun show loophole is the reason his brother died...what a way to cheapen his untimely death)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qhORTQknuM

These states, with tight races, bringing gun control up, is absolutely the WRONG thing to do. Bloomberg has came down here to Virginia before, and "meddled" in several races, made loud endorsments...and practically everyone he, and his "groups" endorsed, got their asses kicked.

Example of one of those, and a REPUBLICAN one at that...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hobf91i7IHY

This is a classic example, of a Republican front group, slipping the nooses over Democratic candidates heads, in the name of "helping them".

1. Fucking Bloomberg.
Those of us who're active in NYS politics have a special hate for this man, who thinks he's entitled not only to buy more terms in his office, but to buy US Senate seats, who displays nothing but disregard for anyone worth less than eight figures, and who pretends to be all bipartisan while collaborating with authoritarian/oligarchist DINOs like Carolyn McCarthy and Harold Ford.

2. Most of the Republicans I know despise Bloomberg,
besides, Bloomberg would call himself a Satanist if he thought it would further his agenda.

4. And some controllers think "gun-control-is-racist " is a right-wing wedge...
No, THIS is a wedge.

Remember and inculcate deeply: Gun-controllers made the modern NRA.

5. The thing I just don't get ...
... is how the heck could gun owners of any strip seriously delude themselves into believing that a movement backed by corporations and foreign governments--calling itself the Tea Party and practicing thug tactics of the Sturmabteilung--could ever remotely have the long term interests of gun owners in mind?

6. Which is why any "lefty" needs to reconsider gun-control as meaningful...
How many times have I heard (in this forum, site, personal conversations) how horrible the future will be with authoritarian, corrupt one-party, corporate-dominated government right-wing government --- then added to that coffee house rant: "Oh, and I'm for gun-control."

Really? Do folks really believe what they say of their "enemies," or are they just as deluded by T.V., songs, web-sites and app discussions of the future, as any of those Tea Baggers, that they can just change the channel and switch deodorant brands to escape their own self-described reality?

This gun-owner is not deluded. He is well-armed.

I agree with you that "long-term interests of gun owners in mind" will wilt quickly. Was it William Bennett who wrote the assault weapons ban? Was it Charles Krauthammer (right-wing WaPo writer) who said that the AWB had nothing to do with crime, but everything to do with "conditioning" the public for the eventual confiscation of all firearms?

7. I too am well-armed and not deluded
The Tea Baggers have been carefully picking targets when assaulting someone.

The last thing I want in America is a shooting war; however, I'm so sure about some of the Tea Baggers.

If the Tea Baggers win tomorrow, they will be emboldened to use violence because they will believe America is with them, but they ain't gonna sweep the House and Senate even if they make gains.

If the Tea Baggers lose tomorrow, they will be emboldened to use violence because they will be pissed.

This country does NOT have to devolve into some horrid combination of 1861 America and 1933 Germany. We don't have to engage in violence, but we do have to step up to and face the violence of the Tea Baggers head on. If we don't stop the violence now, when it is stoppable, it's going to get a lot worse.

8. I think there are some teabaggers who are crazy...
the rest may be suckers for the GOP, but that is another matter. I don't worry about the minority, they gas a lot, but do nothing. Like I said to some RW idiot who informed me that he had guns: "So? I do too." That usually backs them up.

2nd fact: Bloomberg is an independent.

11. Bloomberg used to be a Republican
And for all practical purposes, he still is. Just like Carolyn McCarthy and Sarah Brady.

13. He was a lifelong Democrat, a a Republican for just a few years
He's pretty much 85% liberal, 15% conservative. How that's Republican, I don't know. He also endorsed Obama.

14. For the sake of honesty, if nothing else...
Bloomberg is no more a "Republican" than Arlen Specter is a Democrat. Little Mikey changed his lifelong Democratic party affiliation to Rethug only because they weren't nominating a candidate and he wanted to avoid a six-man Democrat primary that he had no guarantee of winning.

Bloomberg's instincts - with the exception of guns - are pure Dem-blue....Mikey's an opportunist, plain and simple.

15. Exactly what are Bloomberg's political affiliations?
My son classes him as a "corporate elitist". He switches sides to take advantage of a situation which will better him. It's all about money.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Bloomberg

"Michael Rubens Bloomberg (born February 14, 1942) is the current Mayor of New York City, and the 10th richest person in the United States, having net worth of US$18 billion in 2010.<2> He is the founder and 88% owner of Bloomberg L.P., a financial news and information services media company.<3><4><5>

A lifelong Democrat before seeking elective office, Bloomberg switched his registration in 2001 and ran for mayor as a Republican, winning the election that year and a second term in 2005. He was frequently mentioned as a possible independent candidate for the 2008 presidential election and fueled that speculation when he left the Republican Party in June 2007 to become an independent.<6> There was also speculation that he would run as a vice-presidential candidate.<7> Bloomberg did not, however, seek the presidency nor was he selected as a running mate by any of the presidential candidates.

In the fall of 2008, Bloomberg successfully campaigned for an amendment to New York City's term limits law, in order to allow him to run for a third term in 2009. Bloomberg won the election<8> on November 3, 2009."
