Butt Crack with a gun - just thought a funny photo

The New York Times has detailed the broad support that gun rights have in Arizona, where even Representative Gabrielle Giffords boasted of carrying a Glock 9.

In the days since the shootings in Tucson of Ms. Giffords and 19 other people, there is little hue and cry for tighter gun controls in the state, which has among the most permissive firearm laws in the country. If anything, the debate in Arizona is on whether more citizens should carry weapons, and be ready to use them, to protect public safety. This argument -- "more guns, less crime" -- has encouraged concealed-carry laws in states across the nation in the last decade. Does it make sense?

Bet NY Times picked this photo on purpose.

3. That poster with the "drawing" of the gun is hysterical.
Hands down one of the worst depictions of a handgun I've ever seen.

4. Wow, there is so much wrong with the opinion piece you cite.

Take this paragraph:

First, the killer could not have purchased the high-capacity weapon that he used had George W. Bush adhered to his campaign promise in 2000 to support the federal Assault Weapons Ban that elapsed after 10 years in 2004. High-capacity magazines are far more valuable to criminals than to those seeking protection, and restoring a ban on possession (not just purchase) of such magazines would be a pro-life, anti-crime strategy.

1. This killer could have bought any Glock weapon while the AWB was in existence. The hi-capacity magazine used in the shooting is not packaged either Glock 19 or 17.

2. The hi-capacity magazine manufactured previous to the AWB was available new in wrapper and used at gun stores and online for purchase by anyone. The teenagers of the Columbine shooting were able to obtain similar hi-capacity magazines for a different weapon while the ban was in place.

3. Hi-capacity magazines were valuable to those seeking protection -- just ask the civilian police officers who used them on a daily basis. I'm sure the author doesn't think these officers were criminals.

4. There has not been a Federal ban ban on the possession of hi-capacity magazines, therefore it is impossible to restore it.

The author, John Donahue, is, in my opinion, is tell untruths.
