Detroiter killed, 5 wounded in shooting

Kim Kozlowski / The Detroit News

Detroit -One man is dead and five others are hospitalized after an early morning shooting Sunday on the city's west side. The shooting happened at about 2:30 a.m. when two vehicles pulled up to a home on Charleston Street near Savannah Street and a man fired shots, said Sgt. Eren Stephens, spokeswoman for the Detroit Police Department.

The suspect, believed to be a lone gunman, ran out between some homes and opened fire with a high-powered rifle. There were 12-16 individuals at the scene, some inside their cars and others outside.
"He fired shots, striking six people," Stephens said, adding that one of the shots fatally injured an 18-year-old man.

No arrests have been made.

1. Anything in particular about that criminal act that you wanted to discuss?

2. We could discuss the journalistic shortcomings, I suppose
I can't tell if the shooter came from one of the cars, or shot at the cars, or if the cars are even relevant. Was there an event at one of these houses? What was going on?

I can only assume that there was a point the OP wished to make, relevant to firearms and/or firearms policy, but the article is so unclear that I can't tell what it is...

3. I guess we don't have to worry about any of the victims then!
Which is, after all, SOP for this forum...

4. Was that the point you were making - an expression of sympathy?
If so, it wasn't very clear. But if that was the case, why have you decided to stop worrying about them?

5. Was there a point you wanted to make with this current events story?
Not sure what this tragic crime story has to do with gun control or the second amendment.
