Interesting results
Under the Obama Administration, Federal weapons prosecutions have dropped to their lowest level in ... well, since their previous low under the Clinton Administration. I could have sworn I'd heard complaints from various high level officials during both those Administrations that we needed more firearm restrictions because existing laws weren't enough...

9. That's the problem. 'Pro-gun' people WANT criminals prosecuted.
Otherwise we end up knee deep in bastards killing people, and calls from all directions for more gun control, when the gun control already existed, but wasn't enforced.

5. Admiration comes with respect
respect comes with exemplary service. The Feds have a long history of not enforcing existing firearms laws then bitching that they need new, redundant laws.

Curiously, some of the same folks who planned one grandstanding fiasco were responsible for the losing control of another grandiose publicity seeking "sting operation" and let at least a couple thousand guns walk across the border.
