North Las Vegas man charged after firing gun at reality TV show crew
http://www.lvrj.com/news/north-las-vegas-man-charged-after-firing-gun-at-reality-tv-show-crew-120711239.html

While filming in North Las Vegas Monday night, the production crew of new reality show "Repo Games," which debuts Tuesday night on Spike TV, were the targets of an angry gunman who mistakenly thought his vehicle was being repossessed.

North Las Vegas police Sgt. Tim Bedwell said no one was hurt in the incident, which began about 9 p.m. in the 2900 block of Vigilante Court (edit: LOL) , near Centennial Parkway and Losee Road.

<snip>

But the man stormed out of his home and got into a physical altercation with a crew member.

The man then pulled a handgun on the crew and began firing, Bedwell said. Police believe some shots were fired at the crew and some were likely fired in the air.

If NV had a Castle Law he would not been charged

11. True - I imagine the producers of the show were ecstatic to hear about it
Although I equally suspect that they paused a moment to wonder if it wouldn't have been even better if someone had been hit...

5. Well, what do they expect when they film on Vigilante Court?
;-)

That is just too delicious to be believed.

And, hey, this is one case where I don't so much disapprove of a nutcase firing off a gun. (joke -- I don't really approve)

6. So this should give them a clue
at what might happen when they are repossessing the correct car...like they didn't think this could happen with a show like this.

7. Repo and Dog are about the two worst shows on TV
They are also very susceptible to monkey wrenching. Just blowing your horn will mess with the audio something fierce. A flashlight or laser will do a number on the cameras.

22. "Reality TV" is an excellent example of an oxymoron
Even better than "military intelligence" and "jumbo shrimp."

10. I tell you one thing...
If I worked in repossessions, you can bet your ass that I would carry a gun. You would be a fool not to.

19. I have repossessed probably 7 or 8,000 cars without a gun
the other 4 or 5,000 I did have one. I only came close to pulling it and shooting once. A guy was closing in on my partner with a hammer in his hand..even he never knew I had one. The repo shows are so much fiction. In the 12,000 plus repos I did over 20 years I laid my hands on exactly 7 people (in an offensive/defensive manner) and had around 20 put their hands on me (in an offensive manner). I worked in large metro areas and rural farming areas...the farming areas were much more dangerous..

20. if you were a repo man with a gun, you'd deserve to get shot.
Americans have the right to shoot repo men on their property.
