Father defends himself for bringing gun to school (vigilante CCW holder)
http://www.wcnc.com/news/local/vigalante-dad-defends-daughter-at-school-120900439.html

The father arrested for bringing a gun into the parking lot of a Charlotte elementary school told NewsChannel 36 he was simply trying to protect his family.

<snip>

Willis was charged with one felony count of possession of a weapon on educational property. He does have a concealed weapons permit, but state law does not allow him to carry a weapon on school property.

Willis tells NewsChannel 36 that his wife searched through the text messages of their 14-year-old daughter and found several messages from a man allegedly trying to sell their daughter drugs.

Willis and his wife set up a sting to catch that man. They followed him down Endhaven Lane and stopped him just a few feet onto the property at Endhaven Elementary.

1. Say "bye-bye" to that permit, dumbass.
Wannabe cops taking the law into their own hands are dangerous to everyone.

4. I guess that father doesn't know how to dial that phone and call
his local PD and bring his evidence in for a detective to see.

They could have made a big drug bust, getting all the players involved selling drugs to kids, but nooooo...

And what if he was entirely mistaken about the guy, wrong guy, maybe he wasn't selling drugs, daughter had a beef with him over something and wanted him punished, guy was undercover looking for drug users and sellers at that school...so much could have gone wrong there.

6. Exactly. Why doesn't the NRA propose legislation to keep guns out of the hands of idiots?
If rules and regulations were suggested by the NRA, they would have no trouble passing.

7. What test criteria would YOU propose?
You want the test, it's your job, not someone elses.

8. No test criteria - local police should issue CCW permits based on real need including...

people who routinely carry large amounts of cash for their business

people who have been threatened with lethal force by family members or criminals or political terrorists

9. What about people
who get assaulted without the benefit of advance notice? Every, hell not even most, assaults begin with harassment.

19. What an uncaring attitude.
In my county, a call to 911 would mean a fifteen or twenty minute wait for a response on a good night. People in ivory towers can afford to wait that long. Some poor guy getting robbed for his prescription drugs probably can't.

Citizens have every right to be armed. If they are willing to accept the responsibility that comes from doing so I see no need for government interference.

The fact is, almost all gun owners in America are highly responsible. They're our friends and neighbors. They buy their guns legally and use them safely, whether for hunting or target shooting, collection or protection. And that's something that gun-safety advocates need to accept. Likewise, advocates for gun owners should accept the awful reality that gun violence affects Americans everywhere, whether on the streets of Chicago or at a supermarket in Tucson." - B. Obama

13. Funny, anti-carriers usually decry people who shoot people over property.
And there you go, 'large amounts of money'.

I don't carry to protect property. I carry to protect human life.

correction. They will issue the permit if

The person is not brown/black
the person pays them a large enough bribe
the person likes the same football team.

That's what the anti-liberty primitive may-issue system ends up being based on.
