Cops: Man pointed gun at kids for disturbing sleep
http://www.wtsp.com/news/article/196006/58/Cops-Man-pointed-gun-at-kids-for-disturbing-sleep

A man faces three charges of aggravated assault with a firearm after he pointed a gun at a group of children who were playing outside while he was trying to sleep, according to the Daytona Beach Police Department.

The woman who reported the incident said that she was outside with her five children playing in the street when Paolo Sorrentino came out of his home with a long gun with sights attached on the top, according to the police report.

Sorrentino, 47, then pointed the gun at the group of children -- who ranged from ages 12 to 17 -- and began to yell profanities and threats, police said.

He is quoted as saying, "Shut the (expletive) up, I'm trying to sleep," in the police report.

1. At least we know he wasn't a cop
A cop wanting to take a nap would have unloaded his clip, then told them to shut up.

80 million gun owners did nothing wrong and have their guns safely stored. Thank you for today's grave dance. Love man bites dog. How about this link: http://www.calgarybeacon.com/2011/02/when-armed-self-defence-is-no-defence-at-all/

5. Kind of ironic, isn't it?
Sleeping in jail is near impossible, too.

I just rip a page out of Hunter S. Thompson's "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" and tune my TV to a channel with noting but snow and noise, let it drown out the outside world. Back in the day you could do it by getting the knob to stick between channels, now you have to just touch a button, not nearly as satisfying.

4. He probably worked the graveyard shift ...
I did that for many years.

I remember an ice cream truck that used to drive up and down my street blaring music that would wake me up. I often was angry but I never considered pointing a firearm at someone and in fact never left my house to scream profanities at someone.
