1. They're all over at DU3, posting in the Guns Group there.
They seem to be doing fine, and all the usual stuff is being posted in that Group. Give it a try.

we aren't welcome. It was a perfect opportunity for the super pro administration types to weed out those of us on the far left, and for the Republican enabling trolls to ride with them.

6. HAHAHAHAHAHA
Those of you who believe in the NRA have no proof.

The NRA uses Obama as a fear raising-fund raising tool, and he has taken a position of indifference on guns.

Those of you who support the NRA wish it was the 1800's again.

Have a nice life.

24. Is that why our violent crime rate (and our gun violence rate) is near historic lows now?
The violence picture in the United States is much improved now as compared to 2004, when the Feinstein non-ban expired. I guess the gun control advocates haven't noticed, or else it doesn't fit the "more gun ownership by mentally competent adults with clean records = more violence" narrative.

See you at DU3!

7. only reason we are far left
is the Democratic party today is a bunch of Reagan fans. albeit they are becoming concerned about their jobs so the senate stuck a middle finger up the Houses ass. Now john. when you piss off a crazy right wing guy like Mitch. Thats not good.

Should be interesting the rest of next year.

other sites where I've found good comments... the brad blog, Huffpo, sometimes leftunderground... go to DU3 and nothing but a stroke waiting to happen. Sure no problem arguing, but shutting people up Billonuts style isn't DU.

22. Derp..
"Finally, I contended that the debate over the question of self-defense was unnecessary since few people suggested that Negroes should not defend themselves as individuals when attacked. The question was not whether one should use his gun when his home was attacked, but whether it was tactically wise to use a gun while participating in an organized demonstration." Martin Luther King, Jr., Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community? Chapter II, Black Power, Page 27, Harper & Row Publishers Inc., First Edition, 1967.

"As we have seen, the first public expression of disenchantment with nonviolence arose around the question of "self-defense." In a sense this is a false issue, for the right to defend one's home and one's person when attacked has been guaranteed through the ages by common law." Martin Luther King, Jr., Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community? Chapter II, Black Power, Page 55, Harper & Row Publishers Inc., First Edition, 1967.

"He who cannot protect himself or his nearest and dearest or their honor by non-violently facing death, may and ought to do so by violently dealing with the oppressor. He who can do neither of the two is a burden." -Mohandas Gandhi

"Non-cooperators are under prohibition as to political violence. Those, therefore, with whom non-cooperation is not their final creed, are certainly free to defend themselves or their dependents and wards against their assailants." -Mohandas Gandhi

20. That is a most excellent reply.
They are so worried about something that will never happen that they are packing heat.

Using that same logic, I'm afraid my refrigerator will give out one day, so I wear a backpack filled with Blue Ice with lots of saran wrap wrapped around a fresh pound of bologna and a half of a loaf of bread so I won't go hungry for more than 30 minutes on any given day, should that refrigerator suddenly go on the fritz with no notice.
Cuz you never know when it will happen.

And I keep that backpack stored on my nightstand at night just in case the refrigerator goes out when it is dark outside.

23. I vote for staying here
The inmates have taken over the penitentiary at the new place. "Jurors" are not uncommonly morons and/or have axes to grind, and the right-wing gun militants have discovered how to silence the voices of reason and decency. Whine. Loudly.

Had to laugh when at least one tried it on a post of mine there the other day. They happened to hit at least one juror who knew exactly what was going on:

Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: I'm finding that many of the posts that come up for jury review are idiotic posts in truly idiotic threads. This appears to be the case with this post and this thread. Frankly, I'd like to see the removal of the gun forum, but that's not my call. Leave this alone. The thread will die the natural death it deserves.
Juror #2 voted to HIDE IT and said: stop bickering. Too much damned noise.
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: Someone disagreeeing with the alerted isn't against the rules and this looks like a petty Attempt to block iverglas from the conversation. I hope it doesn't succeed
Juror #4 voted to HIDE IT and said: No explanation given
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: Sounds like a miscommunication.
Juror #6 voted to HIDE IT and said: needs to go to help/meta

Snork.

The astounding thing is that my post almost did bite the dust; a tie vote saved it. I have no idea what #6 said; #4 didn't have the courtesy to offer reasons; and #2 - delete a post and block a user from posting in a thread because of "too much damned noise"??? My use of the paid-for service here is to be interfered with because some bozo thinks there is too much damned noise??? I'm sure I can find somewhere that won't cost money where I can get kindergarten-level dumbness like that.

One thing that makes me giggle. If you put somebody on ignore, you obviously can't alert on their posts. Does my fan club take it in shifts?

There have actually been more egregious examples of abuse of the jury system that I have seen in this forum (and seen and been informed of in others) at the new site -- and I'm sure there have been others that I haven't seen, in my own case, because only successful alerts are communicated to the target; I just happened to be told about that one above. (As a juror, I make a practice of informing both the person whose post is reported and the alerter, if I can identify them, of the alert and the outcome.)

So can we say what we like hereabouts now?? No longer supported = no moderators? That could indeed be amusing.

And the gun nuts at DU3 didn't take 10 minutes time to even think of the dead or wounded before resuming their "all guns are okay" bullshit meme.
