1. You might be able to...

...do some damage with some of those weapons. But after 9/11 all a terrorist could do with them is injure a couple of passengers. The rest of the passengers would be lined up to stop them, regardless of the risk to life and limb.

On edit: I don't know how to link to the one picture I'd like to discuss so you'll just have to scroll down to Bullet (cartridge knife). Why would this straight walled (probably pistol) cartridge be labeled 30-06 SPRG?

And if this was designed to get past airport security I'd like to meet the genius who thought up the idea to make a knife look like a cartridge, yeah that'll fool em.

10. You imply that...

there are a lot of pax to fight the hijackers. Say if there were 6-10 hijackers on board and say 15-20 passengers...? Remember, the hijackers have been trained for close quarters hand to hand combat and weapons use and most importantly they have the intiative in this scenario. They would most like disable the threat from the pax in a matter of seconds, thereby securing the cabin of the aircraft.

If the hijackers are thinking this through, I'm sure they'd check the loads on the flights they are attempting to overtake. Hell, they most likely did that on 9/11 considering how empty each of the planes were that morning.

5. Obsidian can be
sharper than any steel if properly worked. It would work for most chores, and especially well on skinning and fleshing out a wooly mammouth. :)

7. Zytel or silicon polymer
There is a knife on the market that is pure polymer but when stabbing has the strength of steel.

9. There are some pretty cool blades in there
I am more of a sword and dagger collector than a gun collector, some of these blades I have seen before, some are new to me.

I agree, I like the obisidian blade myself. Those would be easy to make, a piece of stone, some sinew and a chunk of antler would make a nice one. Retro stone age!

I'm sure these items will be next on the list, I mean, why else would someone want a knife unless they intended to stab somebody?

11. Another obsidian knife fan here
It's still used in modern specialty surgical instruments.

The one in the FBI publication looks like a souvenir someone bought at the Cherokee gift shop.
