Does Hamas still want you dead?
With the Islamic Jihad, you know where you stand.

They want you dead.

It's part of a worldwide movement of wanting you dead. They take orders from people in Damascus who want you dead, people in Tehran who want you dead, people south of Beirut who want you dead.

With Hamas, knowing where you stand is less cut and dried. With infinitely more support, personnel, sitzfleisch, than the Jihad, with more ideological independence, and a network of free medical clinics and free schools, it almost makes you wonder about the Death to Israel and Death to America and the second graders they dress up and parade around in fatigues and miniature M-16's and garlands of plastic grenades.

1. we dont know.....
and i wonder if "they even know"....two possibilties"

iranian version which is a facist theocratic dictatorship that hangs gays and little girls with big mouths....(anybody willing to support a hamas govt that follows the iranian lead here?)

or the business of filling in potholes, balancing budgets tempers their rhetoric and they worry about import and exports, etc. and come to the conclusion that whats best for the palestenain citizen is a life with less violence and a better economy, in which case working with the world and israel might be an advantage....

will they now disband their "military wing" now they they also control the regular security services?.....boy have got a lot of decisions to make....

2. Hamas in Their Own Words
"They have tried to pressure Hamas to abandon resistance and to abandon arms. They tried to pressure Hamas to abandon its strategic choice in Palestine, all of Palestine. They tried to pressure Hamas to recognize the legitimacy of the occupation. But they failed… We say Hamas will not change its constant principles."

(Ismail Haniyah, Hamas leader, at an election rally in Gaza, January 20, 2006, Reuters)
