IDF artillery units shell Qassam launchers in northern Gaza Strip

The Israel Defense Forces artillery units struck Qassam rocket launchers in the northern Gaza Strip late Friday night.

The shelling came in response to rocket attacks on Israel earlier in the day. In one attack, four family members, including a toddler, were injured when a Qassam hit their caravan in Kibbutz Karmiya in the western Negev on Friday afternoon.

The 7-month-old baby sustained moderate head wounds, while the other family members were lightly injured. The mother was in the first months of pregnancy.


The rocket directly hit the caravan and brought down a plaster wall. Many families evacuated during last summer's disengagement from the Gaza Strip live in this caravan neighborhood.
