Egyptian military attache kidnapped in Gaza
Kidnappers arrived at the home of Husam al-Masri, Egypt's military attaché in Gaza, on Wednesday afternoon.

Al-Masri was forced into a vehicle which then disappeared. Palestinian police were called to the area, and searches for the kidnapped envoy have begun.

1. How fitting, having the Egyptian named al-Masri.
Which means "the Egyptian".

I'd be surprised if he's not released already, it was all a "horrible mistake".

4. So close, igil.
An Egyptian diplomat kidnapped earlier this week by gunmen in Gaza was released unharmed on Saturday, an Egyptian official in Gaza said.

Egyptian military attache Hussam al-Musli was abducted on Thursday after gunmen shot at his car and forced him to stop.

A previously unknown militant group, calling itself Al Ahrar Brigades(which means "the liberated" in Arabic), claimed responsibility for the kidnapping, demanding the release of all Palestinians held in Egyptian prisons.

"We are releasing him (Musli) today to stress that we are seekers of right and freedom, and we have no desire to harm any of our Egyptian brothers," according to a statement issued by the group.

Guess that says it all

They can't kidnap the Europeans; they all left last weekend with the cartoon demonstrations and death and kidnapping threats, right?

More kidnapping risks? "Until recently, Cairo also sent dozens of security advisors and instructors in order to train the Palestinian security services, but has recently evacuated them."

3. Egypt should probably...
think twice before sending their citizens to Gaza without a lot of protection.

5. He seems to have been freed.
Silly kidnappers have been berated by Hamas and seen the error of their ways.
A previously "unknown group" of militants, by some reports.
