Although Iranian officials have said they want to make fuel through enrichment, the activity can also generate the nuclear core of warheads.
Iran's persistence with the enrichment program is only increasing tensions in the Middle East, ambassador Turki Al-Faisal said during a speech here.

OK, maybe I am being naive here. But... Israel got itself into this mess by introducing nukes into the region, didn't it?. Can't it deal with it the way we did with the Soviets (and still do with Russia)? Why does it need us to hold its hand? Let them sit down with the Iranians and work out verifiable arms-control measures.
I'd be in favor of backing up Israel's nuclear deterrent by pledging the use of our own, if necessary (the same deal we have with NATO countries). But launching a preemptive war yet again? I say no, unless we get solid, undeniable evidence that Iran is planning a military strike on another country.
