For the sake of those of you who've just tuned in, who may know little about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and feel that you understand less, a few simple rules of thumb to help you feel your way around the following subject:

WHY THE OCCUPATION WILL NEVER END

1. The Islamic Jihad won't let it.

Let's say that an Israeli prime minister, the arch-hawk who founded the right-wing party that had ruled Israel and settled the territories for most of a quarter-century, announced one day that he was going to pull every last settler and soldier out of the Gaza Strip, without asking the Palestinians anything in return.

That much is assured. We can do something about Bush if we can't do anything else here.

Getting rid of w is a good start.

spend so much money for the big palace they have built in Iraq?
