Egypt uncovers Gaza border tunnels, arrests Palestinian
Egyptian authorities arrested a Palestinian in the Sinai Peninsula on Sunday, police reported.

The man had allegedly crossed from Gaza to Egypt in one of two tunnels recently dug in the border city of Rafah, according to a security official.

The first tunnel was found by border guards and police, who earlier had arrested a Palestinian man in his early 20s as he tried to cross the border in the freshly dug tunnel, the police official explained.

Capt. Mohammed Badr of the North Sinai Peninsula police said the police searched the tunnel and found water and food.

1. The French used a microgravimetric sensor to survey
the inside of the Great Pyramid in Giza--they couldn't map in three dimensions, but they could show where the gravity decreased.

If wonder if the tunnels would show up using such a sensor, or if the Palestinians' reinforcement would supply enough matter to make up for the less dense air in the tunnel? OK, I'm sure the Arabs' best ally in Europe, France, would be averse to lending the equipment. But maybe somebody else would?

3. The French and the Israelis don't have a bad relationship, do they?
For a long time the French were Israel's biggest arms supplier. My fiancee's father used to fix phantoms.

. . I'm pretty sure the IAF flew the US made F4 Phantom that was widely used by the US in Viet Nam. http://www.geocities.com/CapeCanaveral/Hangar/2848/phantom3.htm

I do think the IAF also flew the French Mirage though and put it to good use in the first days of the '67 War according to this article. http://www.geocities.com/CapeCanaveral/hangar/2848/mirage.htm

5. You're right of course.
Mirages... I meant Mirages.

Mirage. Phantom. They are pretty similar come to think of it. In name anyway.
Supposedly the Mirages were pieces of junk. I guess they are the Renaults of the fighter jet circuit.
