Lieberman: Egypt is lying to Israel and working against our interests
Yisrael Beiteinu Chairman Avigdor Lieberman on Monday unleashed harsh criticism at Egypt over the way it has dealt with the breached Gaza Strip border, accusing it of lying to Israel and working against Jerusalem's interests.

"The time has come for us to tell Egypt that we will begin to work to remove it from the list of the U.S.' preferred state," the former minister told Knesset members on Monday. Egypt is "lying in our faces," he added.

Lieberman also slammed Israeli Arab MKs, saying they are in the Knesset representing terrorist groups. During a debate on a motion of no-confidence, introduced by his Yisrael Beiteinu faction, Lieberman turned to the Israeli Arab MKs and said, "you are bringing about the destruction of Israel's Arabs. You do not represent them. You represent terrorist organizations.

"Three Arab members of Knesset went to George Habash's funeral," he said, referring to the founder of the Marxist Popular Front for Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), who was buried in Jordan on Monday.

8. Well, it's rare that I agree with him, Sir, but here I do.
Although I do wonder where he got the idea that Egypt was supposed to pursue anybodies interests but it's own.

But it does seem certain that they lie and that they are not pursuing Jerusalem's interests.

On the other hand, his theory that they ought to be punished for their disobedience is likely a misguided one

He is as amusing as a spectacle of buffoonery as our own Mr Bolton.

I trust things are well with you Sir.

15. It was His Idea He Could Secure Punishment, My Friend, That Made Me Grin
A government that did not pursue its interests and lie would worry my in the same way sight of a man with shoes on his head and his hat on his feet would, certainly.

Things are fine, but we are damned busy upstairs, and this niche is looking like a peaceful oasis of amity and brotherhood compared to my own bailiwick.

11. It's not JOE Lieberman who said that...
it's Avigdor Lieberman--who is much worse. Read the article.

10. This bloke IS Israeli already; he doesn't need to emigrate there!!!!
I think you may be confusing Avigdor Lieberman with Joe Lieberman! Two quite different people.

16. Wrong Lieberman.
The story is about AVIGDOR Lieberman, not JOE Lieberman. (Although both are pathetic.)

17. Avigdor (NOT Joe) is already in Israel...
and fortunately he will never get to be PM or President, much as he might like to!

Some of these comments are rather America-centric if I may say so. There are politicians outside of America!

14. He is a nutcase...
mind you, Egypt probably does favour its own interests over Israel, just as Israel favours its own interests over Egypt.

If he has concrete evidence that any MP is representing a terrorist group, he should provide it; otherwise, shut his poisonous mouth.

I am glad he's not a minister any more.

18. So this Israelis' threat to Egypt is that they will remove it from favor from the US, a country
in which this fool has no say. Who the hell does he think he is?
