Nasrallah: The Zionist entity can be wiped out of existence
Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah on Monday told tens of thousands of supporters in Beirut that Israel could be eliminated and that the prowess of its army had been exaggerated by "Zionist-American propaganda."

"The Zionist entity can be wiped out of existence," Nasrallah said in his address via video link, referring to Israel. "Our nation is stronger now than ever before," he added.

Nasrallah's speech was broadcast live at a rally marking the end of the 40-day mourning period for slain Hezbollah military chief Imad Mughniyah, who was assassinated in a car bombing in Damascus last month. The Lebanon-based guerilla group Hezbollah has repeatedly blamed Israel for the assassination of the group's second in command, but Israel has categorically denied any involvement.

"Zionist-American propaganda is aiming to harm our nation's consciousness. They, using their violent system, are trying to tell us that we are weak and powerless. They want to tell us that we don't have any hopes of winning," the Hezbollah leader continued.

1. More "wiping off the map"
and people think Israel should simply ignore this rhetoric, and instead get cozy with all these terrorists, who have expressed their intent, again and again, to kill all the Jews ad take over Israel.

Jews just aren't that suicidal.

3. Since when has Israel "imply ignore this rhetoric"
What they have done to date has not worked. Something new is needed.

5. Yah, I don't remember anyone suggesting that it just be ignored either.
But there is no fun in that.

7. Something new is indeed needed...
but what about also suggesting that Nasrallah try something new? What he and people like him are doing is also not working, except to increase hate and cause a lot of deaths of innocent people on both sides.

I agree that most of Israel's policies with regard to Lebanon have not worked, and many of them have been immoral or foolish or both - but that doesn't justify or even excuse the completely negative, violent extremism of someone like Nasrallah.

2. its a misquote....
the israeli translator didnt understand the nuances of the arabic that Nasrallah speaks...he was probably a "stringer" or maybe a first year student studying intl relations or something.....

4. I'm guessing it would have to be Arabic to be a quotation.
So if there was a problem it would have to be a mis-translation or something.

the guy actually meant it?....you know actually making a policy statement that they are for: ethnic cleansing, crimes against humanity, war crimes?

nah...it must be the nuances of the arabic language.......

its kind of like shooting missiles that are accurate enough to aim at something, but not precise enough to hit them (this is not really relevant, its just one of my favorite lines when people defend hizballas shooting missiles at israeli cities)

11. Clearly not enough or he would cease the saber rattling
Have to wonder how he feels living the way he must. As the head of an illegal militia that kidnapped Israelis its safe to assume he is high on the IDF "hit parade". That means trusting no ones, constantly on the move, and the target of some of the best humint in the business. Maalox would not begin to cover that kind of stress.
