Al-Zahar: Israeli military not beyond defeat
Senior Hamas member Mahmoud al-Zahar spoke Wednesday at a Gaza Strip event marking the 60th anniversary of the Nakba – the anniversary of the 1948 events which led to the induction of the State of Israel – and promised his listeners that "the right of return in closer than ever."

The events of the Gaza pullout and the Second Lebanon War, he added, proved that the Israeli military is not beyond defeat.

"The Palestinians and the Arabs have crushed the Jews' assumption of supremacy… The Zionist legend of invincibility has been destroyed.

"Now more than ever I tell you – will never recognize Israel… We will form the Palestinian state on all of Palestine's territories and the sun of liberty will burn the Zionists. To them I say – you will lose. You will leave and we will keep hounding you. The blood of our slain sons will haunt you forever," he said.

1. glad to know
that Hamas is committed to peace and is a willing peace partner if only Israel was willing to negotiate with them :sarcasm:

2. This is the reason why there is so much bloodshed in the ME.
As long as the Palestinians let these terrorists run the show they will never have their own State.

Sad.

3. It seems that they don't even really want their own state
since they have chosen violence and bloodshed over any possible negotiation.

Unfortunately, it is the Palestinians who lose, since the Israelis have a wonderful and prosperous state.

The Palestinians could too, but their leadership chooses terrorism over the welfare of their citizens.

Sad is right.

4. Lots of Muslim leaders are making this claim lately
much like in the past. It appears they are gearing up for another war with Israel and anticipating an Islamic takeover of Egypt and Jordan to complete the circle around Israel.

The intractable positions of Hamas and Iran suggest it's just a matter of time before they launch another war against Israel. Hezbollah has recently proved it has the ability to takeover policy in Lebanon with tacit Army approval so we have another potential partner in crime there.

Things look bleak no matter the so called peace process being conducted by a flock of lame ducks.

5. Who's intractable? Seems the Israeli gov't is the intractable party, as the land grabs
continue and the settlement machine churns out new settlements every week.
