U.S. queries Israel's toilet-paper rules for Gaza
<snip>

"The United States is protesting to Israel over seemingly random restrictions on deliveries to the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip of harmless goods such as soap and toilet paper, diplomats said Wednesday.

Diplomats fear day-to-day crisis management on Gaza was diverting the United States and other Western governments from bigger issues like the goal of restarting peace negotiations for a Palestinian state.

In one case, Israel blocked for weeks a World Food Program (WFP) shipment of chickpeas, used to make the Palestinian food staple hummus, the U.N. food agency said.

"We're certainly asking the Israelis questions about this," a U.S. official said of the restrictions on what is allowed into Gaza.

A Western official said: "The Americans and international NGOs (non-governmental organizations) are raising their concerns... We're protesting."

1. Thou shalt not question Israel on anything. Don't we know that yet?
Cut Israel loose from our bank accounts until it behaves as a civilized nation.

3. It is my support of the people in the Jewish state
That makes me question the actions of those that invaded Gaza, and continue with policies that go against there own good, including excess lobbying of US officials.

The approach that the extremist take on some of these actions seem to be a war of attrition against a population.

And repeating that Israel should not be questioned gives that thought power, because then people believe it, and only people believing it gives it power.

I would guess you know that. Every time a person makes a statement like you did they are supporting Israeli suppression of real information on what is going on.

Could you explain why people should not question them?

4. Sorry - didn't think I needed the sarcasm emoticon. I agree with you that the actions
of the Israeli government are doing great harm to the people of that nation. In the end, it's ability to co-exist with its neighbors will have to increase if it is to survive.

Being raised Jewish, I know the paranoia that exists among many Jews. To let it drive their relationship with countries that it exists next to is insane. A perpetual state of war only produces dead warriors, and civilians.
