Israel arrests Hamas militant who allegedly planned attacks in USA

Israel has arrested a Gaza-born Canadian citizen for allegedly working with the militant group Hamas to plan attacks against Israeli Cabinet ministers during their trips to the United States and against North American Jewish officials.

Akkal was asked to gather information on a senior Israeli official's visit to the United States and plan a sniper attack to assassinate him. Akkal also helped plan shooting or bombings attacks against members of the U.S. and Canadian Jewish communities, the statement said.

Wahabe allegedly told Akkal to raise funds among Muslim communities in Canada, ostensibly for families of Palestinian suicide bombers, but they would actually be used for the purchase of weapons and to finance the militant activities.

Akkal was slated to attribute the attack to al-Qaida, not Hamas, according to what he told interrogators, the statement said.

OK, let's react to the fact that a 23 year-old Canadian allegedly was asked to plan attacks on American Jews in what way ? Should we just say go get 'em Ariel ? Should we move to Israel for our own safety ? I'm not sure what response you have in mind, but I personally don't see such a character as much of a threat to me. I know - let's attack Syria !

The article was simply 'breaking news'...there's nothing in there about attacking anybody.
