Libya denies its officials held any meetings with Israelis
Edited on Wed Jan-07-04 01:43 PM by Gimel
Tripoli denied Wednesday any contacts between Israeli and Libyan officials, shortly after Labor MK Ephraim Sneh confirmed a Haaretz report that he and Shinui legislator Ilan Shalgi met earlier this year with the son of Muammar Gadhafi.

Sneh said that the Libyan leader could go as far as to establish diplomatic relations with Israel.

But in Libya, Libyan Foreign Ministry spokesman Hassouna al-Shawish denied that any meetings had taken place, according to the official Libyan news agency JANA.

"We would like to assert that officials in Libya have investigated this issue and have not found any evidence of it," al-Shawish said, according to JANA. "International relations are not built on intrigue."

Not so fast world. Hold on there. The EU anti-Semitism conference was cancelled ans reinstated. Now Gadhafi says the meetings never took place. It's all a hoax. They have to be deleted.

1. Very Orwellian.
Find out what todays truth is by reading the paper.

Do you suppose this is connected with Shrub renewing
the sanctions on Libya?

Israel promises cooperation with the Interational Court on it's ruling over the wall, only to later announce that the Court has no jurisdiction.

3. Defense
Opening a defense with questions of jurisdiction is very acceptable. Apparently you didn't read the article that was about this or you would know that there is a presentation of factual arguments also being prepared. These are not contradictory steps. Why didn't you raise that question on the proper thread? I would have explained it to you from the article that you mention.
