Israelis join appeal against wall
http://www.nzherald.co.nz/storydisplay.cfm?storyID=3552330&thesection=news&thesubsection=world

<snip>

"Israeli citizens have for the first time joined Palestinians in a court appeal against the route of the controversial security barrier Israel is building on the West Bank.

About 30 residents of the Israeli suburb of Mevasseret Zion outside Jerusalem added their names to a Palestinian petition to the High Court of Justice against the fence section being built between their community and neighbouring Arab villages. The Jewish residents maintained that fencing in the Palestinian villagers would lead to terror, not prevent it.

"We have not had any problems with them all these years," said Sarah Bar-Tal of the Palestinian villagers. "But when people are under pressure they react violently."

The court yesterday ordered construction of the fence in the entire Jerusalem area halted for a week while it examines the issue. The close interweaving of Jewish and Arab communities makes the fence route here particularly problematic."

1. You're kind of myopic aren't you?
I'm sure that the palestinians would love to protest their own gov't but unfortunately they would be shot for doing so.

Israelis are free to express their points of view. It's called freedom of speech. The Arabs and muslim countries might want to try this one day.

3. What? Free speech is a bad thing?
Good to see that you defend repressive, fascist dictatorial gov't's. Good job at keeping your eyes closed

Besides, you're here defending Israel's war crimes and terrorist atrocities against Palestinians, aren't you?

5. What gov't?
In case you didn't notice, the Palestinian territories are under military occupation.

Hell, even some from the Likud central committee agree there is an occupation. I'm not sure you want to be to the right of them.

6. peaceful co-existance is possible

people inherently desire peace and goodwill..the separation wall does impact on the life of ordinary Israelis..I would add my voice of support to these brave citizens and hope the court appeal is successful..
