him addressing the United Nations in the seventies, wearing a pair of pistols.

when the choice came between a legacy of peace or a fat bank account, Arafat went Swiss. What he did to pull the Palesteinian Nation into coherence was commendable, and what he did to keep them homeless and bleeding was contemptable.

may he rest in peace.

He also, tragically, blew it with Clinton and Barak--and I think the sadness over the realization of that failure--and what it ended up costing his people--hastened his death.

only works in particular circumstances - they are not available in Palestine.

probably the same reasons Zionists didn't utilise non violence in the 1940's.
