4. The biggest trick of all to me:
The Wolfowitz Doctrine ---> PNAC.

That is the oil in the gears and the inspiration behind most of what is going on now. It has been successfully covered up to the larger public and it is the biggest trick that has ever been played on any populace in history, most likely. It is reprehensible.

It leads to inspiration of fear versus bravery in the populace as a reaction to terraism. If Ghandi and King had resorted to that, their followers would have accomplished nothing. They were strong leaders who inspired strength and fearlessness in their followers.

Instead, we have a Government that demands we actually respond to terra with our own inner terra, like timid mice who need someone to protect us.

Thomas Jefferson would puke if he saw America falling for a propaganda campaign that is a dark cloud over the Country and a pox to the World. That's what our Forefathers had in mind AT ALL.

Botox accusation.

Man-tan.

Fake bimbo eruption ("intern").

Swift smears.

Kerry shouldn't take communion.

Repub senators denouncing Kerry on Senate floor.

John and Teresa run Heinz corp. and outsource.

He looks French (even senators making this trivial comment).

Kerry was disrespectful to Reagan.

That's off the top of my head, I'm sure we'll all think of many more.

29. Oh, Lordy
Using gay marriage to drive GOP voters out to the polls, as well as rush the issue through the House and Senate, so they could get Dems on Record.

Purple-heart band-aids

Tie any criticism of Bush + Saudis to "Michael Moore propaganda"

Manipulating poor, delusional Zell Miller

Planting Kerry-intern story

Letting Assault Weapons Ban expire (though I sort of agree)

Adding on "Saddam responsible for terror" passage in the act of rememberance for 9-11 families.

Uh -- "Rathergate"

Milking the Reagan funeral -- and not letting Clinton speak.

Of course the numerous distortions, lies, cries of foul, insinuations, smears, hate screeds, ridiculing of Kerry and Democrats, and capitalizing upon the minds of dull, impressional voters with "Orwell in Overdrive" talking points.

50. Lifting the "false dilemma" and the "ad hominem" to artistic levels
false dilemmas:

You can't vote for John Kerry and support the troops.

If you want to support our troops, you should stand behind the president,"

You can't get our allies to join the "wrong war, at the wrong place, at the wrong time."

Questioning the war is sure to demoralize our troops.

Kerry is a traitor, because he spoke out against the Vietnam war.

Kerry will invite another terrorist attack

If Kerry had been president, Saddam Hussein would still be in power.

You shouldn't change horses in mid-stream.

*****

And we're all familiar with their "ad hominem" attacks: Kerry is French, a Flip Flopper, his wife gives to terrorists, etc. -- many are mentioned above.

But the GOP is the master of a different kind of ad hominem attack -- one that attacks the vehicle or delivery or timing of a message. It's sort of a "rules of discourse thing." It allows them to attack the mode by which the message is delivered, rather than a BLATANT ad hominem attack, which, although they do, anyway, would be much more shrill if that's all they relied upon. To wit:

The Dean Scream and Al "Unhinged" Gore -- passion is wild-eyed, anger is lying. (I'm actually glad the Dems capitalized on this with Bush in the debates -- it's about damn time -- this is one of their favorites.)

Of course -- Rathergate.

The "liberal" media.

"Don't criticize Reagan, because he just died."

"Your criticism is demoralizing our troops." (both a false delimma and ad hominem, depending on how it's used.)

Ripping on "Hollywood" actors that give political messages.

"How dare you criticize Allawi (sp)."

These are dirty, dirty. Of course neither their own constituents, nor most of the populace realizes that these are logical fallacies.

Author: crockspot

what "dirty tricks" have been listed?

Jeebus, woman, get yourself checked for Altzheimer's. The original 15 listed above you dismissed as Kitty Kelley etc., but only a few of them fall into that category. Unless you count Howard Dean, Al Gore, and other prominent Dims as "bloggers". Kerry and Edwards have themselves been pushing the draft bull, even though the only legislative action was sponsored by Democrats, and co-sponsored by the most liberal dirty dozen dims in Congress. I gave you a few, as well as a link to very dirty tricks that DUers advocate.

Arguing with you is pointless. You're a typical DUer. Blind, deaf, and dumb.

I'm heading back to my home board now. Oh, BTW, you're invited to CU too, if you can handle it. But you won't get away with the spinning and stalling that you seem to get away with here. We won't ban you, but we won't pull any punches either. When you leave CU, it will be of your own volition, probably with hands to head, and screaming.

Jesus loves you, Allah wants you dead.

re CU I have an account over there and you're right, I quit going there because of idiots who spout the party line with nothing to back them up. Have things changed?
