Someone needs to bring a shareholder action against Sinclair
Josh Marshall posted a letter about this on his blog. Sinclair is in effect ording its stations to forego millions of dollars in advertising revenue in order to promote a partisan political agenda. The directors of Sinclar owe a fiduciary duty to its shareholders. They are supposed to make money for their shareholders, not lose it. And lost advertising revenue could be the least of Sinclair's problems. By preempting network converage, the stations may be in violation of their contracts with the network. I'm sure there must be some shareholders out there who would be willing to serve as plaintiffs in a shareholder action for a preliminary injunction. And I'm sure there must be some Democratic corporate attorneys who would donate their time.

2. This is already
being planned, according to some of the posts at
the Yahoo boards and other sites I have been to.
In fact, some web page I read yesterday (can't
remember which one, since I am all over the net),
urged stockholders to dump most of their stock;
but hold onto a couple shares, so that they would
be included in any future class-action.

3. Are there any large insitutional investors in Sinclair?
Like pension funds or such?

If there are some large investors, pressure could be brought to bear that way....
