There will be NO * 'October Surprise' !!!!
Reason:

If Bush had anything significant to drop before the election, they would not be silent on the Sinclair issue.

Think about it; if they new that they had a lock on the election, they would speak out against the unfairness of the Sinclair move. This would be the perfect opportunity for the Bushies to present themselves as honest and forthright. This move would help shore up the trust of the American public for post-election action on the part of the Bush administration.

Just a thought....

2. Sinclair IS an October Surprise
I truly believe it.

There may be other surprises, but this is certainly one of the big ones.

3. bush will fake an assassination attempt
his bullet-proof vest will save him and Kerry will just shake his head.

That's a bit far-fetched, but sounds reasonable considering the recent theories about what's under his shirt.

16. Yes, but in this case, it would be too much of a contradiction too close
to the original statement :).

8. But they are scumbags
It doesn't even occur to them to pretend to be honest and forthright. They despise the very idea of fairplay and honor, to them even faking those things would be an admission of weakness.

9. Wrong!
The Sinclair stuff is to distract us from the Main Event: A "terrorist" attack on Washington DC. The shadow government will take over. Martial law will be declared and the elections will be "postponed" until "order is restored."

11. The Sinclair thing IS part of the October surprise.
Also, there's a movie coming out this weekend, I think, by the Repub-leaning Southpark guys.

Plus, I'm sure * will try to do something about the oil price thing.

Plus....who knows what else?

It's heeeeeeeeeeere.....October, and it's full of surprises. I just hope we have a few of our own!

12. I think it will just be a barage of little shit
like the Sinclair mess, the Chechen rebles crossing the border in July, The mass grave suddenly being discovered.
There will be more of these little bombs dropped. Just to re-affirm the base.
Other things to watch for: Ten Commandments legislation, More on Under God and Anti Gay measures, plus we will keep mentioning Kerry's military record.

17. I think there is a lot more.
Right now, I'll bet the border along Afghanistan and Pakistan is a very unsafe place to be, with Pakistani and American forces combing the valleys for any body, alive or dead, which may be deemed a "terrorist."

The pre-Ramadan offensives in Iraq are almost certainly an intelligence-gathering operation designed to corner and bag a big-name target in Iraq, probably either Zarqawi or Sadr.

It would appear that the insurgents in Iraq have succeeded in the major goal of interrupting Iraqi oil deliveries prior to the election. As a result, Saudi Arabian overproduction alone cannot saturate the market as planned, and oil prices remain high. So that widely expected October Surprise is probably shitcanned.

Kerry's indiscretions. Come on--the dude met his wife while she was married to another Senator who later died in a plane crash in Pennsylvania. Karl Rove hasn't unleashed his rabid dogs on this yet? You can bet he will, any day now. Toss in the rumors of flag desecration, and sure enough we'll have a surprise on our hands.

Taking a lesson from the DWI scandal which unfolded on Bush in the days prior to the election, but which did not damage him enough, my guess would be that Rove knows that the dirty trick has to be sprung well enough in advance for the attack to work. I'd say the latest he would want to spring it is Friday, October 23, about ten days before the election and the last full news cycle.
