A contrast in strategy, good for our side
Radio was actually interesting this morning. I don't know who I was listening to, but they were talking about Bush's strategy in 2000.

Right at the end of the campaign, Bush did a victory lap in a state that he shouldn't have been in (too blue -- though the polls must have shown it narrowing for some reason) like New Jersey.

This time, they noticed that Bush was doing the exact same thing in the exact same state.

On the surface, might have appeared smart as it makes Bush look confident.

But they agreed that what Kerry was doing was probably the smarter thing. He was in Florida, in a battle state where he belonged -- with busses.

It was the busses they thought were smart. When everyone is already reved up they suggest "Hey let's go vote RIGHT NOW!" "YEAH!!!" And off they go. One of the radio guys suggested that "Well, gee, he already knows THOSE people are voting for him." But the point is that now they don't have to wait for Nov 2 -- they can vote when it's less crowded and when they're really motivated.

Ta da, votes in the bank. The dj's agreed it was quite smart of Kerry.

I thought that was an interesting strategy too, myself.
