GOP leaves Keyes off its team ad (LOL!)
The Illinois Republican Party this week sent out hundreds of thousands of campaign mailers to homes across the state that leave off the name of one high-profile Republican contender--U.S. Senate candidate Alan Keyes.

The glossy promotion, which doubles as an absentee ballot application, is zoned for specific regions in the state and touts "Your 2004 Republican Team." The team roster includes President Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney and various congressional and legislative candidates.

But there is no mention of Keyes, whose archconservative views and strident manner have embarrassed many Republicans since he entered the race.

The omission is being viewed as more evidence of divisions in the GOP that have only grown deeper since Keyes was selected in August to fill in as the Senate candidate after primary winner Jack Ryan dropped out of the race.

2. you gotta be kidding! what a hoot!
Poor Machine Gun Keyes. Kicked around by his own party.

some conservative areas are giving 28% of the vote. CONSERVATIVE AREAS, mind you.

I'll bet he gets no more than 20 state wide.

3. are the paleo-cons fighting back or are the neocons just trimming
dead wood off the tree? That race was lost anyway so they sent Keyes off to go down with it. Hope he enjoys his personal encounter with compassionate conservatism and the republican big tent.

Good thing he at least got his singing career launched out of the deal.

4. Evidence? It's NO secret
that the Illinois GOP HATES KKKarl Rove for shoving Keyes down their throats in a sick attempt at a "our black man vs. your black man" campaign. Keyes is running as an outsider to Illinois politics and no one here wants any thing to do with him (except the religious extremist). Keyes is NOT welcome at GOP functions and has had to barge is way into them when he gets wind of it. The Illinois GOP is letting Rove and the National GOP run Keyes campaign....they won't have anything to do with it.

5. More Evidence:
Indeed, some prominent Republicans are deliberately keeping their distance from Keyes. Former Gov. Jim Thompson has already declared his intention not to vote for him. (This is HUGE as far as the Illinois GOP goes)

State Treasurer Judy Baar Topinka, who is also chairman of the Illinois Republican Party, does not respond directly when asked whether she will cast her vote on Election Day for her own party's candidate for U.S. Senate. Instead, she maintains that she'll "support the Republican ticket." BWHAHAHAHA....

6. Here in Oregon
The Voter's Pamphlet, official publication of the Secretary of State's office mailed out to every registered voter, didn't have Dick Cheney's picture to go with Stupidhead. It was a glaring omission and oversight, but the state Republicans just passed it off as being somehow intentional, and the local sycophantic media let them get away with it.

But for such a detail-oriented bunch of Mayberry Machiavellis, you know that intentional things don't happen accidentally (Keyes in Illinois) and accidental things don't happen intentionally (Cheney in Oregon). They're such a bunch of fuck-ups.

The other day, when I was getting my morning cuppa, the teevee was tuned to CNN as usual, and the talking chucklehead was interviewing Alan Keyes. Keyes was blustering on about how preposterous it was that he was trailing by over 50% in the polls, and that his own polling (I suspect of many members of his immediate family) showed that he was running at 69%, and fully expected to win in November. The chucklehead had that frozen, uptight smile that said to me "Must maintain eye contact. Keep smiling. Don't make any sudden moves. Mustn't upset the crazy man."
