2. They just cut away. I was starting a thread on that too.
Even Foxnews had cut away. Good grief. Now we have a recap from Dana Bash.

Desperation.

3. Sounds "Fair and Balanced" to me.
Maybe CNN and Fox should merge - one could show bush all the time the other could show cheney and other cronies for a change of pace.

6. After talking to my parents about CNN, they will be switching
channels too. Told them about the Gallup poll scam and that it was hype that they were "Liberal Media." I'm sure this choice will cement their opinion.

9. The only reason I turned to CNN earlier was to watch Kerry because
a DUer had given the heads up that he and Dana Reeve would be on.

As soon as it became clear they were pre-empting Kerry in favor of bush I resumed my usual position regarding CNN:

CNN is not watched in our household. Ever.

Too bad they didn't redeem themselves and let Kerry's speech be heard.

Side note: as CNN switched to bush and he made snide, wimp comments about Kerry and did his snively laugh, my son walked by and said "What a total prick."

10. Bush lied about "gov'ment run health care" in other countries..here's why
Edited on Thu Oct-21-04 01:15 PM by glarius
Our health care in Canada, is paid for by the government after the doctors and hospitals send in their bills! The government has NOTHING TO DO with running it...All this bull shit he keeps repeating about government choosing your doctor for you is another lie....We choose our own doctors and change them at will....We have access to all treatments and specialists....This smirking man is so disgusting....

27. My email to CNN
I have been a CNN viewer for a good many years, and, up until recently, have always been fairly pleased with the news coverage that you offer. Lately, however, I have become increasingly concerned over CNN's blatant partisanship in the upcoming election. Case in point: today, shortly after introducing John Kerry's speech, coverage was aborted and President Bush's speech was shown uninterrupted and in its entirety. John Kerry's speech was never returned to. This is not an isolated incident, and it is becoming increasingly obvious that, in an attempt to avoid the "liberal media" label, CNN is slanting too far in the other direction. As a consumer of the news, and as an American, I am interested in hearing what BOTH men have to say; perhaps if the pundits spent a little less time offering their opinions, you would have the time to be fair in covering the candidates more equitably.

17. I actually timed it
CNN gave 12 minutes to the combo of Dana Reeve/John Kerry. They gave 15 minutes to George Bush. This is actually pretty common as many of you are aware. It is absolutely ridiculous that they can't at least give equal time. However, the speeches between the two couldn't have been more different although we only got to hear about 4 minutes of Kerry. I can't wait for this election to be over so I don't have to listen to Bush speak ever again.

Good work. We need to start keeping records on this crap and letting CNN know that we are keeping records on their biased coverage.

23. Whatever amount of time they gave to Kerry
was just Dana Reeve introducing him and talking about stem cell research. They showed nearly all of Bush giving a campaign speech the majority of which consisted of bashing Kerry with made up shit!

They gave 8 minutes to Dana Reeve and 4 minutes to John Kerry. Just went back and checked my tivo recording to get the breakdown.

21. Is this the speech in Downingtown, PA?
My hometown, and the speech is right near my parent's house. I was hoping Michael Moore would show up.

Is the speech done yet? I'm hoping he won't screw up traffic on my way home.

26. Just zapped off an e-mail to CNN
Their bias towards Bush could not have been more open and clear had they put a running ticker at the bottom of the screen that read "Vote For Bush".

Between Faux News where every singe anchor is a full time Bush Shill and CNN, where the Bush speeches are covered and Kerry's are cut it is so obvious that the Networks have been given the word to go all out for Bush...or else.

28. my letter...
I used to have CNN on 24/7. I have seen a steady deterioration of your "News".
It has turned into a spin room for the Republicans. I tuned in today to see some of Kerry's speech. I get a minute of Kerry & a bombardment of Bush. What has happened to your fairness? I realize you have had to dumb down some because of the mental state of half of the Country but this is ridiculous. To only play to the "Right" people is a mistake, you are loosing your intelligent viewers. Fox will always win with the Bush supporters, quit trying to play to them. Please keep an eye on Daryn Kagan, she is probably putting something in your drink.
