CNN is un-American: attn please, CNN underlings perusing DU
Our family is keenly interested in hearing both sides during this election year.

We have not tuned in to CNN for over 2 months since that type of coverage has been lacking.

Recent news accounts describe CNN airing Bush's 'policy' speeches, which turn out to be stump speeches attacking John Kerry.

CNN does NOT provide equal time to John Kerry.

Giving free air time to one candidate only, for political attack speeches, is un-American.

Today, there was news CNN would carry coverage of John Kerry's speech, to be introduced by Dana Reeve. We looked forward to hearing the speech in it's entirety.

However, after just a few minutes, CNN switched to Bush giving a live stump speech.

Thanks for reinforcing our belief that CNN is a partisan and unpatriotic influence on our political process.

We will not be tuning in again.

Adding to that-I quit watching CNN 2 months ago and won't be back
it's not news, but partisan entertainment desperately seeking to fill 24 hours. My 24 hours are too valuable to spend them wasting time watching baloney

1. The only thing on CNN worth watching is Capital Gang
I wish they'd move that to PBS or something (oh, and that is NOT an endorsement of Traitor-Bob Novak)

5. agree--any decent citizen will shrink from that traitor
CNN shames itself by continuing to promote and celebrate that slimeball.

I quit watching CNN the night of the first debate, when they let Ed Gillespie speak FIRST after the debate. They cannot hide their blatant partisanship. It is disgusting.

6. DU is very effective at campaigns to stop certain media behavior
I was listening to Micael Savage railing against the smlaa group of activists who's email resulted the Sinclair Group changing its plans. I believe a similar DU project would have a similar effect on CNN, though it might take a few days longer. A concerted anddirect mail campaign tageted at CNN's many advertisers, noting CNN's use of only polls favorable to Bush, while ignoring polls showing a closer race, plus the consistantly Bush favovorable broadcasting they do would certainly have some results. I am disabled, otherwise I would start it up here myself, but the people who co-ordinated the SInclair offensive did a fine job or irritating right wing radio whores all over the country, like Savage and Medved.

You guys did a great job. Doing it to CNN would be even greater.

10. You're right - contacting the advertisors is the way to go. I don't waste
time or thought processes in contacting anyone at CNN by email or phone. That seems like a way of telling them I'm still watching.

Could there be (or is there) a single model, like the Sinclair boycott, that would be easy to access and use to contact CNN or all cable advertisors?

7. i quit watching cnn and msnbc before the debates
a good month ago, maybe two. for two decades i have been an obsessive new watcher, a political junkie. i will no longer support the media by watching their programming. on top of all that was said in the original post, to actively work against a candidate the way media has done with kerry. there was nothing in the teresa hienz statement a day or two ago. yet the media created something out of it to make kerry look bad. there has mot been one time in watching media a positive thing said about kerry. no matter the person., they couldnt be presented as badly as kerry is promoted. then, for a man with kerry's accomplishments and character thru acts of behavior to not have one positive said about him, it is just gross.

15. Can't watch it anymore.
Used to enjoy CNN HN playing in background while I worked in my office. No more. So blatantly partisan, makes my stomach turn.

Now I have History channel on most of the time.

17. I cut them off years ago,
and the Jon Stewart Crossfire was the first time I tuned into CNN since then. Now I'm back to ignoring them. It's good for my mental health.

However, a big salute to those who monitor the cable newswhores. You must be gifted with a naturally low blood pressure.

21. They have the two worst, most biased
"reporters" who are on the air today: Judy Woodruff and Candy Crowley. The worst part is that they masquerade as true reporters. It's not that the others are really reporting the news, but these two are unbelievably horrible. Everytime I have the misfortune to have CNN on and they are on the screen, I just listen in disbelief. There's no pretense of objectivity.

23. Clearly Not News
John Stewart is right. The media, especially Fox and CNN, is HURTING AMERICA. Don't you realize that when people lose their jobs they're going to stop paying for cable television? So you're only shooting yourselves in the foot by supporting BushCo.
