Nedra Pickler (AP) Skewers Kerry For Hunting
BOARDMAN, Ohio - Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry said he bagged a goose on his swing-state hunting trip Thursday, but his real target was the voters who may harbor doubts about him.

Kerry returned after a two-hour hunting trip wearing a camouflage jacket and carrying a 12-gauge shotgun, but someone else carried the bird he said he shot.

"I'm too lazy," Kerry joked. "I'm still giddy over the Red Sox. It was hard to focus."

Kerry's aides said he spent about two hours hunting at a blind set up in a cornfield. More than two dozen journalists were invited to the farm outside of Youngstown to see Kerry emerge from the field, but none witnessed Kerry taking any shots.

The last time Kerry went hunting was October 2003 in Iowa, a state where he was trailing in the Democratic primary but came from behind to win.

The faith, the baseball, the hunting all come at the end of a long fight against Kerry's liberal elite image ? an image promoted by his political enemies but perhaps aided by Kerry as well. The candidate disregarded concerns from other Democrats that he shouldn't go windsurfing or vacation at his homes on Nantucket and in Idaho's ski country.

Pickler fails to mention that the entire press corps in October witnessed Kerry shoot two birds - a small slip for someone who is clearly encouraging the idea that Kerry is not only a fraud, but a liar. She also fails to mention that Kerry has been hunting ever since he was a small boy,

Or that he wasn't shooting water pistols back in Vietnam. But i guess that was an elaborate photo op, too.

4. interesting link
http://www.americanwindsurfer.com/mag/advdem.html

Its a demographic study of subscribers to american windsurfer magazine done back in 1998. What I particularly like is that even back then 98+ percent said that they wanted a windsurfer in the white house!!

onenote

9. I'd rather see him
windsurfing than hunting. Just MHO that windsurfing takes a helluva lot more skill and control, plus it's the vegetarian in me talking. I love those surfing photos!

6. Picklerpuss on the prowl again!
alert the militia!

(why didn't Kerry have the forethought to join the NRA 20 years ago like Michael Moore? Especially since he was already in detailed planning for his presidential race way back in 72, according to the worst freeptards...)

7. I'd like to see * even pick off one bird on the wing
The only footage of * with a gun is in F911 - and it doesn't inspire confidence in *'s gun-handling abilities...

15. actually they do have
him on film hitting one--unfortunately it was an endangered species!!! When he was running for Governor of Texas the first time--he went hunting and hit some endangered bird. He had to apologize for it (SHOCK) he didn't really apoligize--he kind of joked about it. There are probably Texans who know more details--we should be mentioning this right now--Bush kills ENDANGERED SPECIES.

10. I saw footage of Kerry taking the shoot on cabal tv.
I think it was MSNBC. If the reporters did not see it in person they were probably back in the van drinking coffee. They should turn on tv.

What a bunch of wusses.

Not an obvious photo op, just a relaxing trail ride with a friend...Robert Redford, for instance.

HORSE, HORSE, HORSE.....are you listening Kerry campaign?

20. Yep, no English saddle...
only Reagan could get away with that! I'll give his team enough credit to find an appropriate horse and saddle, but I fault them for not doing it sooner. We know Shrub is afraid of horses.

At this late date, almost anything will look like a photo op, dammit.

18. My take on Pickler
From another piece I heard it sounded like the press was not allowed to go into the field with them while they were hunting, which is probably what Pickler was alluding to -- though she made it sound like maybe Kerry made it up about shooting a goose.

Well, of course, they aren't going to let 57 reporeters and all their equipment into the field. Duh.

I don't know that Pickler was disputing that Kerry actually shot a goose so much as she was being snarky about being left behind.

Either way, she needs to get over it.

21. Why did Kerry have to kill an innocent goose
This did not impress me at all. How low does he have to stoop to prove his manhood. What's he going to do next, drag Teresa around the parking lot by her hair.
