Waiting to concede would NOT have harmed the country
I just can't get my head around this and I'm pissed.

In 2000, yes, the prolonged battle had the potential to harm the winner (and the country) since neither had a Cabinet in place or had his possessions moved into the White House. There was a need for an appropriate transition time back then since Clinton was going to move out in 2001 no matter what.

This time, however, Bush is the "ostenible" winner and he already is governing. He has a Cabinet, he needs no transition time. Stalling on our part would not have "cost" the country anything.

Why did Kerry thing he needed to concede today? Delaying that speech until ALL the votes were counted, all potential fraud examined, would not have "hurt" our country in any possible way. A month from now if Bush is still the winner, he's already in the WH, so a delayed result is inconsequential.

I'm seething that Kerry conceded without millions of votes outstanding. I will not unite behind Bush. I will not give up the fight. I will not be quiet.
