1. Ah, much more than all the above....
He's a hand-picked Bush stooge. He was in Texas, and is in Washington. This is a whatever-the-boss-wants guy. That, in a way, makes him even more dangerous than Ashcroft, who often seemed to be off in his own little world much of the time.

When Gonzales was first picked for White House counsel, the stories began to come out about the indifference and haste and obfuscation with which he treated execution orders. The law in Texas is pretty specific about what the judge must do in counseling the governor on execution orders--including a thorough synopsis of each case, including the legal arguments relating to trial and appeal--and Gonzales rarely, if ever, provided that detail. It was clearly a case of telling the boss what he wanted to hear.

Gonzales is also a behind-the-scenes guy. Ashcroft was, at heart, a politician and loved having his face on the front page. We're going to see very little of Mr. Gonzales, and I suspect, neither will Congress. What he will be doing behind the scenes, lord only knows.

5. Clearly lives mean nothing to this madman.
I hope we can stop him. Gary Graham had all those witness who said they had the wrong man. The only reason he was executed was because he was black.

2. None of the above.
The most disturbing was his signing off on the opinion that the president, as part of his inherent power as commander in chief, was not bound by either statutes passed by congress or treaties.

Look at page 20-22 of the torture memo.

Wonder if anyone in Congress will ask him about it.

4. There are people here who think breaking treaties and laws is okay
I don't know if those people are Democrats but they seem eager to have a torturer for Attorney General.

3. Gonzales is the most dangerous person Bush could nominate ever.
He's much worse than anyone Hitler had working for him. I'm calling tomorrow.

6. His inability to detect an active arrest warrant during a routine vetting?
I think this Kerik vetting thing ought to come up during confirmation hearings for Gonzales. The White House blew this big time.

ABC's White House reporter on This Week this morning said: "The White House says there's not much they can do if Kerik isn't truthful during his vetting." I guess it's too much to ask for the future Attorney General to actually investigate the testimony of a prospective job candidate.

8. The same thing that is disturbing about Clarence Thomas.
He is an ultra-conservative minority.

9. All the choices from now on will be minority extremist if Gonzales gets in
We will show that we will approve anyone if he/she is a minority.

10. Yeh. We can expect a black Goering next. Wait ,this is Goering.
Well, how about that. This is our chance to prove we deserve better. If we don't filibuster him, we deserve all the torment he gives us.
