Lieberman Fundraising Versus Clark Fundraising
There are two reasons I think Lieberman will drop out soon. As much of a pain in the ass he is, he can't defy reality forever.

Reason 1: His polling in NH stinks, and he should be doing better there than other places (independents, it's somewhat conservative, it's also in New England, like CT.)

Reason 2: Crappy fundraising.

Here's Clark New Hampshire fundraising logo:

Here's Lieberman's:

I don't know when Kucinich and Sharpton will drop out. But Lieberman is running because he actually thinks he might win. When he's out of money, with no votes to show for it, he'll get back to the Senate where he belongs.

1. Kucinich and Sharpton won't drop out
...they aren't spending any money! I hope Lieberman will drop out after he is beaten by four candidates.

4. Don't know
I went to check Dean's site, but didn't see a bat. What I DID get is a new popup asking to enroll in the campaign.

I know I'm being extremely petty and silly, but I HATE POPUPS! Argh!!

5. Clark has been raising money at a Dean-like pace recently
That fundraiser only started 8 days ago. That's over $125K per day online--double Clark's previous online fundraising pace and the same or possibly more than Dean's $100K pace.

6. So Clark and Dean are raising more per day than Lieberman's goal
that's all we need to know to stick a fork in Lieberman. Good riddance.

7. The Only Problem
Lieberman has been in NH for weeks attacking Clark every day. It really stinks because he doesn't stand a chance, but he's hurting Clark.

9. Lieberman got the nod....
... from the Manchester Union-Leader. Saw this announced on CNN last night when, during caucus coverage, they cut to an interview of JL.

I can't tell you how discouraging that was for both me and my partner. We may not be too keen on some of the current candidates, but a Joe Lieberman ticket would be the one reason we would be tempted to just stay home on election day this November.

10. I thought about this too
When I went to Joe's website, and saw the $100K fundraiser, I went WTF? Does Joe plan to campaign after NH, hell, that won't even get him a bus ride to Florida.

Oh, well, part of the process is to vet the candidates, Joe will be vetted next, I believe.

11. Had no idea the $$$ Clark had
I'm still a Dean guy, but admit I have a lot to learn about Clark. Where is his money coming from? Just curious. :) I agree Joe is done.

12. I've heard this a lot from Dean people
For some reason, some people and the media too, just don't understand the wide-ranging support Clark has, and the thriving on-line community. There has always been a large base that started with the draft community.

Monday night, I went to my first Clark meetup. I could never go before because of work. This was not a regular first Monday of the month meeting. There were about 60 people there. I think that's pretty good for Tulsa. The guy who ran the meeting said at the regular meetup there was close to 100.

13. Lieberman will drop after NH
if he crashes and burns. Let's face it - where else can he go? Barring this scenario, the only reason he stays in is pure ego, and that will only carry him another couple weeks.

Sharpton and Kucinich will be in for a while, since they aren't spending much money anyway. But I see them both as running not to win the nomination, but to get their voices heard. This is what CMB did. She has said that she ran to rehabilitate her political standing. Sharpton has reinvented himself from the fat guy in the velour jumpsuit with all the chains around his neck to a very eloquent spokesman for the left. Kucinich has made everyone forget about Cleveland, and made a name for himself. They will both leave when they feel the time is right to bow out. Jerry Brown, they aren't.

It will soon be down to Kerry, Clark, Edwards and Dean.
