The Dean "movement" is a machine that lacks the human touch
Edited on Tue Jan-20-04 05:40 PM by rumguy
Dean is unable to explain who he really is to voters.

For example, when asked about healthcare, this former doctor talks policy. He misses the opportunity to talk about his or his wife's experiences as doctors.

He could have used first hand expierence to illustrate his points. But instead he spews policy.

His campaign does not know how to talk to voters. In the caucuses some of his "people" were just terrible at communicating with Iowan voters. It was odd to watch, it was like they had no idea how to go about it.

It's a fatal arrogance born of a machine-like view of polititcs. A view that focuses on fund-raising, organization, and endorsements, but eschews getting down to the eye-level with a fellow democrat and making a direct human connection.

1. Damn skippy! Puh-lease e-mail this to the dolts over at
Dean for America maybe if we gang up on them, we can help change this while we still have the money to do it.

I I had been there I would have been talking up Dean before the vote, every one there was ready to split up they completely skipped the part where you get to sell your candidate. I was screaming at the TV last night. What the hell folks don't you ever even talk to the people around you, that just might disagree. ARG!!!

Maybe the Edwards people will listen to some sense.

2. Yeah, he really does seem to lack good judgment about politics.
Hard to believe considering how successful he was as gov. But that speech last night was the last straw for me. I've gone from being skeptical to downright negative now. I think voters just won't feel he has the temperament to be commander-in-chief. I think he would lose to Bush badly. Either Kerry, Clark, or Edwards has a good chance. I hope it's any one of those three. My money is on Kerry though. Clark seems like too much of an opportunist, even though I don't think he is. And Edwards is sort of inexperienced and can get flustered under tough questioning. My preference at this point would be: Kerry, Clark, Edwards. (ABD) Anybody But Dean. :-)
