1. Only if they fix the machines
If we don't start there Dr. Dean will have no more luck than his predecessor.

2. Howard Dean is best when he talks issues with voters. He is extremely
articulate and well informed and can really capture the attention of voters with well reasoned positions on the issues. I've always been VERY impressed with his communication abilities whenever I've had the opportunity to hear him speak or give an interview. This talent will take him very far in his current position and be extremely valuable for the Dems for the coming years.

4. Isn't it sad when you compare this great man to
bush the lesser? It's night and day. He has as much over junior as we have over Plankton. How sad.

10. Always use a lower case (b) for bush.
No respect for him is the reason. bush the lesser is the only way I have been describing him for years. I don't remember where I saw it first but as soon as I saw it .....it hit a nerve!

;-)

6. If Dean wasn't any kind of threat to the repukes hold on power then why
Edited on Sun Feb-13-05 09:01 AM by Mountainman
do they spend so much time trying to destroy him?

Yeah he will help the Dems get more votes and that's what worries them. Dean is the kind of leader who can bring pride and purpose back to the Dem voters. The right won't be able to define him or Dems anymore because their rhetoric will have less and less effect as Dean gains in stature.

9. perhaps more votes will be garnered under Dean's leadership
Edited on Sun Feb-13-05 09:24 AM by wyldwolf
Dean did bring many new people into the political process - most of who stuck around for the election.

More voters will also come to the Dems, or at least more voters will vote against the GOP, as mainstream Repubs grow more weary of Bush.

Dean's challenge, IMO, is to convince the media and the public he isn't this wild radical he has been portrayed as.

If we win that PR battle, Dean wins more votes. If we lose it, he loses votes.

11. My rightwing brother-in-law likes him
I think Dean will pull supporters from all over.
My brother-in-law would have voted for him had he won the primaries and he is a rightie!!

Dean's quick and in-depth mind appeals to LOTS of folks. No wonder the talking head righties are freaking out.

Definitely being freeped. The repug pundits are already commenting on news shows that he's "dangerous" for the Dems. Ha. Got'em worried now :)
