Social Security: Do Democrats truly undersatnd...
That if they lose this fight on Social Security that what is left of the party is doomed!

Right now the Senate seems to be united but there are too many DINOS in there to make me comfortable.

I feel this fight on Social Security is more important right now than the 2006 elections. A lose on Social Security will make the 2006 a waste of time.

Bush, Inc will keep pounding their message day in and day out and eventually it will stick even if it is a lie, how many examples of this do we need to see before we know this to be true.

The GOP wants to destroy Social Security, thus destroying what is left of the Democratic Party, while at the same time giving billions to their cronies.

The Social Security fight is the Democrats last stand, one would think they would be acting like it is.

Their needs to be a Democratic rebuttal in every state Bush. Inc goes to spread this propaganda and on TV as well.

We need to set up a 'Save Social Security Fund' where people can donate to get our message out as loud and on as much media forms as possible.

3. Yes...
This is the Democratic Party's last stand and our elected Democratic Party members in congress do not seem to think it is.

2. Social Security
is the Number 1 issue of the party because it was the biggest accomplishment of the party in the last century. If they give up this one, it all crumbles from there.

6. the fight is NOT about SS
Edited on Sun Feb-20-05 11:14 PM by ulTRAX
The Right is engaged in a direct assault on the social safety net. Since Reagan they have tried to sabotage government finances. Now in power they intend to legislate it to death with plans as Bush is now pushing for SS. Third they are working on the judicial front to negate the legal basis for Progressive government.

It's a much bigger fight and if the Dems don't understand this... they deserve to lose. Unfortunately We The People do not deserve an Opposition Party that is weak-kneed and mushy.
