CNN: "Bush: Attack on Iran 'ridiculous'"
God damn! Why don't they just come out and say "We support a Bush invasion of Iran and will do anything to help him do that"?

I can't stop laughing at the FULL quote!

"This notion that the United States is getting ready to attack Iran is simply ridiculous. Having said that, all options are on the table"

But look at how CNN portrays it on their website!
http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/europe/02/22/bush.iran.ap/

Headline: Bush: Attack on Iran 'ridiculous'

Sub-headline: BRUSSELS, Belgium (AP) -- U.S. President George W. Bush said Tuesday that it is "simply ridiculous" to assume that the United States has plans to attack Iran over its alleged nuclear weapons program after discussing the issue with European allies.

Article: "This notion that the United States is getting ready to attack Iran is simply ridiculous. Having said that, all options are on the table," Bush said.

The assurance to Iran's leaders was Bush's bluntest assessment yet. Last week, he used a series of pre-trip interviews with European journalists to minimize talk of any military attack by the United States.

1. He's right...........
An attack on Iran would indeed be ridiculous.

Of course, I doubt that's gonna stop our invasion.

I think it's pretty common knowledge that we are about to go to war with Iran. I'm just sitting back and watching the media and government work their magic to convince the country to get behind them.

9. I'm actually kinda torn about this Iran thing...........
Edited on Fri Feb-25-05 12:59 AM by OneMoreDemocrat
One the one hand, I have no doubt that invading is what they want to do, but I just don't see how it's possible....striking Iran's nuclear weaponry (if it exists that is) maybe, but a full scale invasion just doesn't seem doable in the near future.

Iran is no joke...it will be an actual war, not a walk in the park like Iraq (the initial invasion that is).

2. He's not ruling out a "Premptive Self-Defense"
(Followed by candy, flowers, and sultry glances from dark-eyed maidens). I imagine Karl has that "Mission Accomplished" banner stashed away somewhere, ready for redeployment).

15. can you believe I fell for the idea that our government
had a post-war plan, and would have everything under control within a month or two of what would surely be a fast, relatively easy military victory?

Can you believe that I thought the war, while sure to take some innocent lives, would net out to benefit the Iraqi population with the peace and stability that would immediately follow?

I actually believed that shit.

Which is why I'm even angrier than most at this Administration and its thug supporters. Hell hath no fuckin' fury, and all that...

13. Key Word Here Is:
C.I.A.

Bush might be telling the truth here, at least technically speaking that is.

Look at this way. Iran is a bigger fight than Iraq was, and we are spread thinner then we were before going into Iraq. Not to mention that Bush has now come-out and said that we are not planning to attack Iran..

So what is an asshole President like Bush to do?

Well, just ask poppy Bush how that kind of problem has been solved for the last fifty years of the U.S. overthrowing governments in third world countries; and he'll tell you that his good old experience with the C.I.A. has over come that problem by creating a C.I.A. covert operation to train, equip, fund and direct terrorist death squads to disrupt, compromise, terrorize and cause the downfall of those governments.

So you see, all Bush has to do to get a double victory in the minds of most non-DU Americans is covertly have some Iranians bought off and trained by the C.I.A. to do certain things to make the current government look bad, then have other trained C.I.A. backed Iranians conduct terrorist acts against the government -- making it appear that regular Iranians are uprising against the current government.

Then before you know it - vola - Bush can have both Iran de facto under his control and take credit that his middle east foreign policy is working to bring democracy to the middle east all on its own.

Remember the Bush family has deeep ties to C.I.A. stuff like this. These kind of criminal acts would not at all be new to the Bush family. The Bush's are very evil people.

16. I don't know...
... I work with some Iranians. They are not the politically naive people Americans are.

I think those sorts of CIA missions might have hit the wall. Everyone is on to them now.

But I have no doubt whatsoever that if Bush** decides to go after Iran and the leaders of the military don't stop him - some sort of manufactured justification will not be hard to pull over the eyes of the average American.

14. Is the laughter still scrubbed from the CNN audio?
I tried to play the associated clip to this story, but they want a membership. Just wondering if they've still scrubbed the laughter that I heard the FIRST time this clip was played on the radio, but was mysteriously gone the next morning.

(And no, I'm not making this up--others noticed it too. There was laughter heard in the room after he said "all options on the table," on the Wed. noon broadcast over CNN, but when NPR played the clip the next morning, the laughter was gone.)

Preznitin' is hard work... unless you've got somone greasing the skids for you every time you screw up.

17. what was his quote? "That's ridiculous, now that being said we may still "
attack" or something like that. My wife and I both spit out our food laughing (if fear/shock really). No one called him on that.

19. Bush has no plan for a war on Iran, but that won't stop him
Bush had no plan for a war on Iraq but that didn't prevent him from going forward with the invasion. Planning is optional, so his actions inform us.
