Ever hear of the Coalition of African-American Pastors?
The reason why I'm asking is that the group is planning a big rally locally in support of an anti-gay marriage amendment in Kansas.

The group is based in Memphis, Tenn., and is lead by William (or Bill) Owens. It's website (http://www.caapusa.org/) features photos of Bush and Bill Frist.

The website still has links that are "under construction," so I'm assuming it's fairly new. I'm curious about whether this is a legitimate group or a group set up by the Republicans/right-wingers as a front to push the right wing agenda.

Any info you might have would be helpful.

1. They got a bigger slice of the black vote in Ohio on THAT issue alone...
the Repub party is therefore betting it can do that nationwide.

2. Black Commentator take on 'bought' African American ministers

<snip>
Today, Republicans offer corrupt ministers billions on condition that they dramatically break from the historical Black Political Consensus and, hopefully, crack the fragile Democratic coalition. The homosexual “threat” is a smokescreen for treachery. For every outraged Black preacher howling that he’s giving up on the Democrats because of the gays, there is a check or the promise of a check.

And maybe a visit to the White House.

I suggest you contact the Black Commentator for info on this particular group
