Was ANWR sadistically sweet for Chimp, b/c was able to beat Kerry again?

ANWR has been a pet issue for Kerry for years. Yesterday Kerry used his mailing list to ask for signatures to stop the drilling.

Chimp is a sadistic egomanical, insecure little man. He nearly smirked himself to death when the election returns came in.

Of course chimp wants all of his destructive evil policies to go thru, but I suspect drilling in ANWR had a particular perverse pleasure for *. He got to kick Kerry again, stick his tongue out at him (tardive diskinesia?) and twist the knife. He got to gut Kerry's pet issue.

Am I just reading pettiness and sadism into smirk, or did he really get a jolt out of ANWR just because it was Kerry's baby?

we might of lost the first battle by a hair but there are many more to come. Remember the Alaskan pipeline was held up for almost ten years by environmentalist lawsuits, I expect this one to be no different.
Anyways the budget bill needs to pass for ANWR to pass, something that hasn't happened in two years of trying.

...in the senate to call theses bastards on every backtracking, harmful piece of legislation they try to ram through for their wealth pals. The democrats have a mandate from 53 million voters and that's political capital also. Any who choose to squander that and ignore the needs of the constituents who put them there needs to get a good thrashing from the democratic voters.

As for Bush and his republicans thugs, their days are numbered because the whole country is watching and getting wise to what they really represent.

...days. I'm still on that emotional roller coaster from the election and what followed and find it hard to discern much as positive from the political actions I see taking place. I think you're onto something there, NAO. My theory about why he was so adamant about removing the US's signature from the Kyoto Protocol was because the agreement was put together by Al Gore -- Bush doesn't want to give Gore a scrap of credit. The usual thing is just to refuse to ratify, and that way you can have it both ways (pretend you're still supporting the idea for the environmentalists, but reassure industry that you're not going to actually do anything).
