5. Rasmussen shows junior sinking down to a 48% disapprove
while most others had him down in the low 40s last week.

6. Your signature is absolutely brilliant, illflem.
"It's not a Democracy, it's an auction!" is very impactful. Thanks!

10. That's my bumpersticker! "We don't have a democracy, we have
an auction." People like it and it's anti-government, not anti-political party. While driving through Georgia, a guy pulled up next to me and yelled through the window that he loved that bumpersticker. And that was in the southern part of the state.

7. Rasmussen is presently an 'outlier'

along with Gallup. Basically, the problem is that about 7% of the population has what is called "soft support" for Bush- a lot depends on how you ask the question and the context as to which way they'll fall. Rasmussen and Gallup are good at telling us where the upper limit is, other pollsters generally find the lower limit or middle (presently around 44%).

Here's more complete picture- things are fuzzy at the moment. People are doing a lot to try to keep 'faith' in Bush- giving him as much benefit of the doubt as possible- but it's not going so well. The trend is- as ever- downward.

8. 51%
If they lied any more than that, it would be way too obvious.
Even with the padding, almost half the US think he's an idiot.

9. Yeah, sure, must be the great gas prices, the succesful war in Iraq & the
economy too! And ofcourse, don't forget his Social Security Piratization and the Terri Schiavo emergency bill that he signed! Boy, that all must have catapulted him to the high of 51%!

:sarcasm: OFF

Does anyone really believe he has even that level of support? Yeah, maybe amongst the predominantly conservative GOP people polled....

I think Rove and Co. realized they better parade out some better numbers for ole Chimpy to get some more credibility going....

Sorry, I ain't buying....and frankly, the American public is waking up too....

12. So the more screwed up things get, the better the public likes it.
Right, I believe it.

The awareness of the crimes is growing and cumulative....no way the polls should do anything but trend down over time. Personally, I think 25% is about right. That's the 25% who will never admit the truth about this administration.

14. two glaring problems with that poll
Undersampling of women. No weighting to correct their undersampling.

Then there's the fact that it's (R)asmussen.
